HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 63-2009RESOLUTION NO. 63-2009 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF $9,200 IN DONATIONS AND GRANT FUNDING TO SUPPORT THE LIBRARY'S SUMMER READING CLUB AND READER LEADER PROGRAM AND AMEND THE LIBRARY DEPARTMENT'S 2009/2010 OPERATING BUDGET WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of $500 from Philanthropic Ventures Foundation, $150 from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, $1,000 from Friends of the Library, $500 from Soroptimist International and $1,050 from Northern California Grantmakers to support the Library Department's Summer Reading Club; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of $5,000 from Amgen Foundation and $1,000 from South San Francisco Friends of the Library to support the Library Department's Reader Leader program; and WHEREAS, the funds will be used to amend this year's operating budget of the Library Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby accepts $500 from Philanthropic Ventures Foundation, $150 from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, $1,000 from Friends of the Library, $500 from Soroptimist International and $1,050 from Northern California Grantmakers, $5,000 from Amgen Foundation and $1,000 from South. San Francisco Friends of the Library to support the Summer Reading Club and Reader Leader programs and amends the 2009-2010 Operating Budget, to reflect an increase of $9,200 to the Library Department's budget. ~ ~ * ~ I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of July, 2009 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A.
