HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 64-2009RI~SOLUTION NO. 64-2009 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION CONSENTING TO SAN MATED COUNTY HEALTH OFFICER ENFORCEMENT OF HEALTH OFFICER ORDERS PROMULGATED PURSUANT TO STATUTE AND REGULATION WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 101460 of the California Health & Safety Code, every governing body of a city shall appoint a health officer, except when the city has made other arrangements for the county to exercise the same powers and duties within the city, as are conferred upon city health officers bylaw; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Se-ction 101375 of the California Health & Safety Code the governing body of a city in San Mateo County may consent by resolution to the San Mateo County Health Officer enforcing in that city, orders and quarantine regulations prescribed by the Department of Health Services, other regulations issued under the Health & Safety Code and all other statutes relating to the public health; and WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco has consented to the San Mateo County Health Officer performing these tasks for more than 50 years and desires to have the San Mateo County Health Officer continue to do so; and WHEREAS, this City desires to reaffirm its consent in the form of a resolution that is uniform with those adopted by all the cities within the County of San Mateo. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby consents to the San Mateo County Health Officer enforcing and observing in that city, orders and quarantine regulations prescribed by the Department of Health Services and the San Mateo County Health Department, other regulations issued under the Health & Safety Code and all other statutes and regulations relating to the public health. This Resolution supersedes all prior Resolutions that might be in conflict. * * * ~ I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of July, 2009 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A.
