HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 14-2000RESOLUTION NO. 14-2000 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF PROPOSITION 14, THE CALIFORNIA READING AND LITERACY IMPROVEMENT AND PUBLIC LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION AND RENOVATION BOND ACT OF 2000 WHEREAS, Proposition 14, the California Reading and Literacy Improvement and Public Library Construction and Renovation Board Act of 2000, provides up to 65% in state bond funding for approved projects with a required 35% match; and WHEREAS, Proposition 14 funds can be used for site acquisition, new building construction, remodeling/renovating public library facilities, upgrading telecommunications and electrical systems to accommodate technology and purchasing furniture and equipment; and WHEREAS, the City desires to support Proposition 14. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby supports Proposition 14, the California Reading and Literacy Improvement and Public Library Construction and Renovation Bond Act of 2000. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9 _day of February , 2000 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Eugene R Mullin, James L.
