HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 28-2000RESOLUTION NO. 28-2000 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO THE STORM DRAIN LINE ON ORANGE AVENUE, FORGOING THE FORMAL BIDDING PROCESS, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO G. BORTOLOTTO AND COMPANY AND APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 1999-2000 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM BUDGET (CIP 00-3) WHEREAS, the 18" storm drain line on Orange Avenue has developed numerous cracks from age over years of use and broke on February 11, 2000 during heavy storms; and WHEREAS, staff desires to conduct emergency repairs to the 18" inch storm line on Orange Avenue between Grand Avenue and Baden Avenue; and WHEREAS, staff desires to award the construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder, G. Bortolotto and Company; and WHEREAS, funding for this project is available in the Storm Water fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes emergency repairs to the Orange Avenue storm drain, forgoing the formal bidding process, approves plans and specifications prepared by Staff for the repairs, awards the construction contract to G. Bortolotto and Company, appropriates $277,059 for the repairs and amends the 1999-2000 Capital Improvement Program budget (CIP 00-3) with funding from the Storm Water fund. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of the resolution adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco in a Regular meeting thereof held on the 12th day of April, 2000 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers James L.
