CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE PUBLIC AGENCY RETIREMENT SYSTEM (PARS) AND
THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO FOR HOURLY PART-
TIME EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of South San Francisco and its employees
to provide a qualified retirement system to all hourly part-time employees, thereby meeting the
requirements of Section 11332 of the Social Security Act; and
WHEREAS, an alternative qualified defined contribution pension plan, entitled Public
Agency Retirement System (PARS) is designated for California public agencies; and
WHEREAS, the Public Agency Retirement System (PARS) will qualify as a retirement
plan meeting the requirements of Section 11332 of the Social Security Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that:
The Public Agency Retirement System is adopted as the retirement
program for all hourly part-time employees within the City of South San
Francisco, effective July 1, 2000.
The Manager of Personnel Services is hereby appointed as the Plan
Administrator.

The City Manager is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the
City of South San Francisco an Agreement with the Public Agency
Retirement System (PARS) for participation and compliance with Section
11332 of the Social Security Act and relevant regulations issued or as may
be issued. A copy of this Agreement is on file in the Office of the City
Clerk.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a Regular meeting held on the 10th
__ day of May ,2000 by the following vote:

Councilman Eugene R. Mullin, Mayor Pro Tem Joseph A. Fernekes and
Mayor Karyl Matsumoto
NOES: None.
ABSTAIN: None.
ABSENT: Councilman John R. Penna.
