HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 59-2000RESOLUTION NO. 59-2000 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION NAMING A BASEBALL FIELD AT ALTA LOMA PARK IN HONOR OF THE LATE ERMEN ROZZI WHEREAS, on April 15, 1992, the Police Athletic League Boosters drafted a letter to Mayor John Penna requesting that the City name one of the future ballfields included in the Orange Memorial Park Expansion Project in recognition of the late Ermen Rozzi; and WHEREAS, the Boosters highlighted Ermen Rozzi's forty (40) years of assisting others, including his twenty-two (22) years as an active member of the Police Athletic League Boosters; and WHEREAS, recently the City Council received a letter from Ermen's daughter, Cristine Rozzi, requesting that a baseball field in the newly constructed Alta Loma be named after her father, rather than waiting for the expansion of Orange Memorial Park. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the naming of a baseball field at Alta Loma Park in honor of the late Ermen Rozzi. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a Regular meeting held on the 14th day of June ,2000 by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSTAIN: ABSENT: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Eugene R.
