HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 62-2000RESOLUTION NO. 62-2000 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE A 3,620 SQUARE FOOT PORTION OF THE EASTERLY END OF FORBES BOULEVARD, AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH DNA WAY AND SET THE DATE TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING FOR JULY 26, 2000 TO CONSIDER THE ABANDONMENT REQUEST WHEREAS, Genentech, Inc. has requested that the City vacate a portion of the public street right-of-way at the easterly end of Forbes Boulevard where it intersects DNA Way; and WHEREAS, the purpose of this request is to permit the installation of a private bus shelter at the end of Frobes Boulevard to accommodate the employees that use the Genentech campus shuttle bus system; and WHEREAS, to accommodate their busses, Genentech will install the bus shelter and make the necessary modifications to the street at no cost to the City; and WHEREAS, the applicant has paid the City's filing fee for the abandonment request; and WHEREAS, vacating this portion of the Forbes Boulevard will reduce the City's future street maintenance costs by a very small amount. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby adopts a resolution of intention to vacate a 3,620 square foot portion of the easterly end of Forbes Boulevard, at its intersection with DNA Way and set the date to conduct a public hearing for July 26, 2000 to consider the abandonment request. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a Regular meeting held on the 14th day of June ,2000 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Eugene R.
