CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 1998-99
OPERATING BUDGET (No. 99-5) TO INCLUDE THE $133,524.59
THE DEPARTMENT WILL RECEIVE FROM THE STATE UNDER
THE SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FUND
(SLESF) PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill No. 3229 required that $100 million of the State's 1996-97 budget,
would be appropriated to create a new subvention to augment local law enforcement efforts; and
WHEREAS, the initial year's (SLESF allotment) money was used to hire two officers, purchase
allterrain bicycles and related safety equipment, along with funding for training the officers in special
patrol techniques; and
WHEREAS, it is staff's intention continue to use the SLESF funds to staff the two officer
positions, strengthen the bicycle patrol program, acquire additional communication and safety equipment,
and finally, for overtime costs to sustain these special enforcement programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that the City Council hereby approves an amendment to the 1998-99 Operating Budget (No. 99-5) to
include the $133,524.59 the Department will receive from the State under the Supplemental Law
Enforcement Services Fund (SLESF) Program.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco at a rogu l a r meeting held on the _2fi_Lb_ day of __
