HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 97-1999RESOLUTION NO. q7-qq CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND THE PUBLIC SAFETY MANAGERS ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into an Agreement with the Public Safety Managers Association; and WHEREAS, the proposed salary and benefit changes are attached hereto as Exhibit "A". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes an Agreement between the City of South San Francisco and the Public Safety Managers Association consistent with the terms contained in Exhibit A. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to prepare and execute the Agreement on behalf of the City. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a Regul ar meeting held on the 14 _ day of duly ,1999 by the following vote: AYES: ¢ouncilmembers Joseph A. ATTEST: publicsafety.res Exhibit Public Safety Managers Salary and Benefits 1. Have a three-year agreement, ending 12/30/2001. 2. Incorporate previously agreed-upon language into this MOU revision. 3. Conduct a study to determine feasibility for an out-of-area retiree medical program. Cost of program could be no more than City is currently paying for retiree medical, including any administrative costs associated with a new program. Study would be finalized by 1/31/00, and implementation, if feasible, by July 1, 2000. 4. Conduct a study to explore the feasibility of increasing dental benefits, which if accepted would be effective July 1, 2000. 5. Modify vacation buy back leave language. 6. Adjust longevity pay for both police service and fire service members to 1.5% after the 15th year and an additional 1% after the 20th year of service. 7. Continue with "me too" clause for both fire service and police service public safety managers members. 8. Maintain current level of differential between the classes for police service public safety managers' members (additional 2.5% to maintain that differential). 9. Salaries for the period of January 1, 1999 through December 31, 2001 for the South San Francisco Public Safety Managers classifications will be adjusted as follows.
