CITY COUNCIL, C1TY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM
THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,500 TO
FUND PROJECT READ'S FAMILIES FOR LITERACY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, staff desires to accept a grant from the California State Library in the
amount of $18,500; and
WHEREAS, the grant will pay for the full cost of a part-time Families for
Literacy coordinator (twelve hours per week) and a part-time assistant (eight hours per
week), the purchase of quality children's books, instructional materials, and office and
craft supplies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco hereby authorizes the acceptance of a grant from the California State
Library in the amount of $18,500 to fund Project Read's Families for Literacy Program.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regu 1 ar meeting
