HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 89-2002RESOLUTION NO. 89-2002 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 2002-2003 OPERATING BUDGET (No. 03-8) TO INCLUDE $121,165 FROM THE STATE UNDER THE SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FUND (SLESF) PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002-2003 WHEREAS, Assembly Bill No. 3229 required that $100 million of the State's 1996-97 budget, would be appropriated to create a new subvention to augment local law enforcement efforts; and WHEREAS, as a result, the City initially received $132,438.20; and WHEREAS, although it was reported to be a one-time supplement funding for front line police activities, we have received the funding yearly; and WHEREAS, once again, the Department has been made aware that the State will continue the SLESF program for the 2002-2003 fiscal year and that our allotment is $121,165; and WHEREAS, to track expenditures, Fund 39 has been established for the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby approves an amendment to the 2002-2003 Operating Budget (No. 03-8) to include the $121,165 the Police Department will receive from the State under the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund (SLESF) Program. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of October 2002 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A. Femekes, Raymond L. Green and Karyl Matsumoto, Mayor Pro Tem Pedro Gonzalez and Mayor Eugene R. Mullin NOES: None. ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: None. ATTEST: City Clerk
