CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING MEASURE C, THE SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT glOND MEASURE
RECITALS
Whereas, on June 3, 1997, the voters of the South San Francisco Unified School District will be
asked to consider Measure C, a school bond measure authorizing the sale of general obligation bonds in
the amount of $40 million for the designated purpose of replacing fire and safety alarms, fixing leaking
roofs, upgrading and expanding science labs, re-wiring classrooms for technology, and upgrading heating,
plumbing and electrical systems, as necessary, at 16 local elementary, middle and high school sites; and
Whereas, money from the California Lottery may not be used for new school construction or for
the purchase of portable classrooms; and
Whereas, providing adequate school size and facilities for the education of the young people in
South San Francisco is an important general public purpose which benefits all members of the community;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby resolve
that it endorses Measure C, the South San Francisco Unified School District School Bond Measure.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regu ] ar meeting held on the 14th day of
May , 1997 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers James L. Datzman, Eugene R. Mullin,
Penna, Robert Yee and Mayor Joseph A. Fernekes
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: None
