Dear Joe:
It was a pleasure meeting with you at Genentech recently to discuss community
relations. We look forward to kicking off the Fifth "Genentech Goes To Town"
event on June 16th.
Per our discussion, we would like to formally request that the City of South San
Francisco change the name of Pt. San Bruno Boulevard to "DNA WAY" in front of
our campus (between Forbes and Grandview). This would require changing the
street signs at the Forbes and Grandview comers. It would, however, leave Pt.
San Bruno Blvd. running on the other side of Grandview so the three businesses
there would not be affected by the name change.
We think the new street name is a wonderful way to commemorate Genentech's
ties to its hometown, South San Francisco.
Thanks in advance for your assistance with this request. Please let me or Geoff
Teeter know if you have any questions or need any additional information.
Sincerely,
ADL:rp
