CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT NO.2 TO AIRPORT /
COMMUNITY ROUNDTABLE MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING
WHEREAS. certain cities in San Mateo County have expressed interest in joining the Roundtable
in order to participate in developing and implementing air traffic control procedures and in addressing
aircraft and airport operations procedures to reduce aircraft noise; and
WHEREAS, on December 9, 1993, Resolution No. 93-01 was adopted to memorialize the
longstanding policy of not shifting noise from one community to another when related to aircraft operations
at San Francisco International Airport; and
WHEREAS, allowing new voting members would not change the prior policies established, but
would allow the new cities to 1) be represented and become voting members of the Roundtable; 2) agree to
comply with the original MOU and Amendment No. 1 to the MOU, and 3) agree to contribute annual
funding to the Roundtable in the same amount as current city members contribute, or such additional
funding as may be recommended by the Roundtable; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that it hereby approves and authorizes the execution of Amendment No.2 to Airport /
Community Roundtable Memorandum of Understanding.

5. The Roundtable adopted Resolution 93-01 on December 9, 1993 to memoralize
its longstanding policy of not shifting noise from one community to another when related to
aircraft operations at San Francisco International Airport. The Rouadtable will continue to
adhere to the policy's set forth in Resolution 93-01.
THEREFORE, the cum:at mcmbers of the Airport/Community Roundtable agree to
amend the Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Acceptance of thc Joint Action Plan and
Establishing an Airport/Community Roundtable, as previously amended, as follows:

Any city in San Marco County that is not currently a voting member of the Roundtable
may elect to become a voting member of the Roundtable at any time by adopting a resolution:
(1) authorizing a member of the city council to represent the city on the Roundtable; (:2) agreeing
to comply with the original MOU and Amendment No. I to thc MOU; and (3) agreeing to
contribute annual funding to thc Roundtablc in thc same amount as a current City mcmbcr
contribut~ (currently 5;1,000 per year), or such additional annual funding as may be
recommended by the Roundtablc. Thc city may designate an alternate member, to represent the
city on thc Roundtable, who must also be a member of thc city council. Any city or other voting
member of the Roundtable, whether currently a member or electing to become a member under
this section, may elect not to contribute almual funding to the Roundtable and, by such election
shall losc its voting mcmbcrship on the Roundtable.

2. FFFKC'I'IVE DATE OF AMENDMENT
This Amendment ~all be effective upon execution by a majority of the parties who are
current voting members of the Roundtable.
3. OTHF, R PROVISIONS
This Amendment is hereby incorporated and male a part of the original agr~ment ami is
subject to ali provisions therein. All other provisions of the original MOU and Amendment N°.
! remain unchanged and fully effective.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the members of the Roundtable have caused this
Amendment to i~ executed by their duly authorized representatives on the dates shown below;
This Amendment may be signed in counterparts.
