RESOLUTION NO. 188-96
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF CONTRACT TO JOE HEIM, INC. FOR
REMEDIATION OF 27 SOUTH LINDEN AVENUE AND APPROVING A BUDGET
AMENDMENT TRANSFERRING 21,000 FROM THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO
THE 1996-97 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET (CIP 97-9)
WHEREAS, the property at 27 South Linden Avenue was formerly used
for the sale and processing of used batteries (reclamation of metals,
minerals, etc.), these batteries are toxic and hazardous; and
WHEREAS, the property was purchased by the City of South San
Francisco in 1968; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Toxic Substance has requested that the
City of South San Francisco immediately remediate the site pursuant to a DTSC
approved remedation plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco that it hereby authorizes:
1. The City Manger to prepare and execute a contract with Joe Heim,
Inc. in an amount not to exceed 21,000 for remediation of 27 South Linden
Avenue.
2. A budget transfer from the Redevelopment Agency in the amount of
21,000 to the 1996-97 Capital Improvement Budget (CIP 97-9).
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
special meeting held on the 18th day of December , 1996, by the
following vote:

Councilmembers Eugene R. Mullin, John R. Penna, Robert Yee and
Mayor Joseph A. Fernekes
