CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT NO. 97-2 TO
THE 1996-1997 POLICE DEPARTMENT OPERATING BUDGET TO
IMPROVE TRAFFIC SPEED ENFORCEMENT
WHEREAS, commencing October 1, 1996 a two year grant in the amount of
$55,330 will be awarded to the Police Department by the California State
Office of Traffic Safety for the purpose of improving the department's traffic
speed enforcement and education programs and to facilitate response to speed
related community complaints; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used for the purchase of five laser
radar units and an efficient mobile programmable speed awareness trailer which
can be left unmanned for speed education and completing traffic radar speed
surveys.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of South San Francisco that
it hereby authorizes the appropriation of $55,330 to the Police Department
budget.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
rPgular meeting held on the 25th day of September
1996, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A. Fernekes, Euqene R. Mullin, John R.
Penna, Robert Yee and Mayor Jack Draqo
