CITY COUNCIL~ CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE
OF $231,625 TO FUND ONGOING TECHNOLOGY
PROJECT IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the South San Francisco Police Department competed
with over 2,200 applicants throughout the United States and was one
of the two agencies in California that has been awarded a federal
grant from the U.S. Department of Justice for funding under COPS
MORE (Making Officer Redeployment Effective); and
WHEREAS, ~his is a 12-month grant which will be used to bring
full computer itechnology to police personnel in the field; and
WHEREAS, funding will greatly enhance the Department's
Technology Master Plan by allowing the additional equipment
upgrades for the project along with providing the necessary laptop
computers and related training; and
WHEREAS, ithe COPS MORE grant is a one-time award and there
will be no ongoing financial obligation to the City of South San
Francisco.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of South San
Francisco thatiit hereby authorizes the City Manager to accept the
grant fund in ithe amount of TWO Hundred Thirty One Thousand Six
Hundred Twenty'Five Dollars ($231,625) from the U.S. Department of
Justice for funding under COPS MORE (Making Officer Redeployment
Effective), and hereby amends 1995-1996 Capital Improvement Budget
No. 96-4.
