CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING
A TRANSFER OF $100,000 FROM THE
UNDESIGNATED GENERAL FUND TO THE 1994-1995
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR CONSULTANT
AND CONSTRUCTION SERVICES AND STAFF
ADMINISTRATION AND AMENDING THE CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (NO. 95-19) AND AUTHORIZING
ISSUANCE OF A PURCHASE CONTRACT FOR THE REFUSE
REMOVAL IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $75,000 IN
CONNECTION WITH GULL DRIVE REFUSE REMOVAL
WHEREAS, United Parcel Service was to construct Gull Drive as
a requirement to their facility expansion in 1980, based on the
General Plan, to provide a more direct access to Highway 101; and
WHEREAS, Gull Drive, currently under construction, will
connect Oyster Point and Forbes Boulevards; and
WHEREAS, before United Parcel Service could proceed with their
expansion an agreement between the developer and the City would
obligate the developer to clean up any refuse from the Marina site,
which was the former landfill; and
WHEREAS, during construction in 1995 approximately 100 feet of
the 1,300 foot-long street was identified as containing refuse; and
WHEREAS, an emergency situation has arisen due to the refuse
area being currently exposed to the upcoming winter weather
conditions constituting retaining a contractor through an informal
process; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco as follows:
1. It hereby authorizes declaring an emergency for retaining
construction services through an informal process, pursuant to
South San Francisco Municipal Code §4.04.070; and
2. It hereby authorizes and approves a transfer of $100,000
from the Undesignated General Fund to the 1994-1995 Capital
Improvement Program for consultant and construction services and
staff administration for the Gull Drive Project and amends the
1994-1995 Capital Improvement Program (No. 95-19); and
3. It hereby authorizes issuance of a purchase contract for
an amount not to exceed $75,000 to remove the refuse.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a re§u]ar meeting held on the 8th day of
November , 1995 by the following vote:
