Home My WebLink AboutReso 132-1995 RESOLUTION NO. 132-95 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON NOVEMBER 7, 1995 WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held in and throughout the City of South San Francisco on the 7th day of November 1995, pursuant to Resolution No. 54-95, for the election of two members of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk has duly presented to the City Council of the City of South San Francisco all the returns of the votes cast at said General Municipal Election pursuant to Elections Code Section 15308; and WHEREAS, said City Council has inspected and examined all said returns. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of said City that said Council finds as follows: 1. That there were twenty three thousand six hundred and sixteen (23,616) registered voters in the City of South San Francisco and that six thousand eight hundred and thirteen (6,813)votes were cast in the City of South San Francisco; 2. That the names of persons voted for as submitted at said General Municipal Election are as follows: (a) As regularly-nominated candidates: Patricia J. Burke, Community Activist Maria D'Alessandro, Businesswoman Manny B. Madriaga, Engineer & Business Analyst Eugene R. Mullin, Government Teacher Joseph A. Fernekes, City Councilman Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember (b) As write-in candidates: None. RESULTS OF SAID GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION 3. CANDIDATES (a) That the record of the votes cast at said General Municipal Election in favor of said candidates as shown by the official count at each of the several precincts established throughout said City by said City Council for the purpose of conducting said Election is as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the same being a tabulation of the votes by precincts. Co) That the votes cast at said General Municipal Election in favor of said candidates for the Office of City Councilmember by absentee ballot as shown by the official count, and included in the totals set forth in Exhibit "A", are as follows: Patricia J. Burke Maria D'Alessandro Manny B. Madriaga Eugene R. Mullin Joseph A. Fernekes 339 473 417 1,121 1,261 (c) That the totals, including the absentee ballots, of the votes cast at said General Municipal Election in favor of the candidates for Councilmember as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, are as follows: Patricia J. Burke Maria D'Alessandro Manny B. Madriaga Eugene R. Mullin Joseph A. Fernekes 970 1,730 1,825 3,799 4,181 4. That the City Council of said City hereby declares that Joseph A. Fernekes and Eugene R. Mullin were duly elected at said General Municipal Election as members of the City Council of South San Francisco. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of said City shall, and she is hereby ordered to, issue Certificates of Election as follows: to Joseph A. Fernekes and Eugene R. Mullin as members of the City Council.
