RESOLUTION NO.
CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT
APPLICATION TO THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION
COMMISSION FOR THE SPRUCE AVENUE INTERCONNECT, THE
CHESTNUT/GRAND AVENUES TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS
AND THE AIRPORT/BAYSHORE HOOK RAMP PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the Surface Transportation Program is seeking grant
applications for projects to be first submitted with the
appropriate Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MPO)
for review; and
WHEREAS, if the project is approved the City will be required
to provide an 11.5% local fund match from Measure A funds; and
WHEREAS, the Surface Transportation Program funding is fixed
at the programmed amount, and any cost increase cannot be expected
to be funded with Surface Transportation funds; and
WHEREAS, the following project will be submitted to the
Metropolitan Transportation Organization for funds from the Surface
Transportation Program in fiscal year 1997:
Spruce Avenue Interconnect. Interconnection of traffic
signals on Spruce Avenue between Miller Avenue and Mayfair
Avenue. Estimated project cost is $180,000.
Chestnut Avenue/Grand Avenue Traffic Signal Improvements. New
replacement controller and signals. Estimated project cost is
$185,000.
Airport Boulevard and Bayshore Boulevard Hook Ramps on Route
101. Replace existing scissors ramps with new hook ramps.
Estimated project cost is $12,000,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city Council of the city
of South Francisco that submittal of the application to the
Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization, through the
Surface Transportation Program, is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city Manager is authorized to
execute all submittal documents related to the program.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
