ROLL CALL Chair Hobson-Coard, Absent Vice Chair Sanders, Present Commissioner Cansino, Present, arrived at 6:08 PM left at 7:31PM. Commissioner Harrison, Present Commissioner Junio, Present Commissioner Rodriguez, Absent Commissioner Yee, Present. Commissioner Bedigian, Present AGENDA REVIEW None. ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM STAFF 1. (Devin Stenhouse, DEI Officer) DEI Officer Stenhouse announced several upcoming community events. The Kiwanis Club will be holding a garage sale this Saturday, July 26. For additional details, community members are encouraged to visit the city’s website. 2. (Devin Stenhouse, DEI Officer) Additionally, he announced that the County of San Mateo will host its annual Disaster Preparedness Day on Saturday, August 2. This event provides resources and training for residents to better prepare for emergencies. PUBLIC COMMENTS • None. Motion to approve minutes from the June 16, 2025, Commission on Equity and Public Safety meeting. (Devin Stenhouse, DEI Officer) Motion –Commissioner Bedigian ,/Second – Vice Chair, Sanders,: To approve meeting minutes from the June 16, 2025, by roll call vote: AYES: Commissioner Bedigian, Vice Chair, Sanders, Commissioner Yee; Commissioner Cansino; NAYS: None. ; ABSENT: Commissioner Rodriguez, Chair Hobson-Coard; ABSTAIN: Commissioner Harrison, Commissioner Junio 2. Commissioners will discuss the results of the FlashVote survey that was distributed to registered participants in South San Francisco from June 12 through June 14, 2025. (Devin Stenhouse, DEI Officer) DEI Officer Stenhouse presented the FlashVote survey results from South San Francisco. Commissioners discussed overall trust in city leadership, with 67% of respondents expressing some level of trust. They also reviewed community safety perceptions, with 52% of respondents reporting they feel generally safe. Commissioners noted the low number of respondents per district and discussed using additional demographic data from Placer.ai to provide context 3. Commissioners will generate questions to ask guests at the Cultura Fest event on August 23, 2025, in South San Francisco and determine the method in which the questions will be asked. (Devin Stenhouse, DEI Officer) Commissioners discussed creating survey questions for attendees at Cultura Fest on August 23, 2025. DEI Officer Devin Stenhouse proposed questions about residency, district, trust in city leadership, and sense of belonging, with most being multiple-choice. He asked for confirmation that these are the types of questions the group wants to use. Staff was directed to assist with question development and formatting. Questions will be heavily based on the FlashVote survey questions, but formatted to be more in-person friendly. ITEMS FROM BOARD MEMBERS, COMMISSIONERS, COMMITTEE MEMBERS None.
