CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING SISTER CITY
PROGRAM GUIDELINES IDENTIFYING THE
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND THE SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO SISTER CITY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Sister City Council and Sub-Committee presented
the South San Francisco Sister City Committee with proposed Program
Guidelines for the program; and
WHEREAS, in the event a City Council member is required to
travel to a Sister City, the costs for such a trip will be provided
by a consortium of appropriate community organizations and/or
businesses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco that it hereby approves the responsibilities
for the City of South San Francisco, as follows:
1. The maximum number of Sister Cities for South San
Francisco will be four;
2. Welcome at City Hall and tour of City facilities;
3. Host a dinner for the Sister City Official visitors
(maximum one per year per City) with the City funding twelve
dinners regardless of the number of visitors in attendance;

6. Waive all costs for South San Francisco Sister City
Committee's use of City facilities, as available.
7. In the event that a Councilmember is requested to travel
to a Sister City, the costs for such a trip will be provided by a
consortium of appropriate community organizations and/or
businesses.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco that it hereby approves the responsibilities
for the Sister City Committee of the City of South San Francisco,
as follows:
1. Assume all coordination of activities;
2. Provide or secure funding for all activities beyond the
aforementioned City activities;
3. Appoint a Sub-committee for each sister City who will act
as the designated local representative.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 22nd day of Ma~ ,
