CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL
OF A GRANT APPLICATION FOR A COMPUTER
ASSISTED LEARNING GRANT FOR 1995-1996
FISCAL YEAR
WHEREAS, the State Literacy Resource Center has funds
available for one-year projects which feature innovative uses of
technology in literacy tutoring and adult education classrooms; and
WHEREAS, funds from the grant will pay for a Computer Lab
coordinator at fifteen (15) hours per week, consultation with Santa
Clara Library literacy staff, computer equipment and supplies; and
WHEREAS, the grant application is to be filed with the State
Literacy Resource Center in Sacramento in the amount of $23,868.00
and awards will be announced October 1995 for immediate use during
a one year period.
WHEREAS, funds for this project would augment the current
Project Read Operating Budget for 1995-1996 and would not create
any ongoing financial obligation for the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the city
of South San Francisco, California, as follows:
1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an
application to the State Literacy Resource Center in Sacramento for
a Computer Assisted Learning Grant for the 1995-1996 Fiscal year in
the amount of $23,868.00.
2. The City Manager is further authorized to execute any and
all documents necessary to assure that the city obtains and
appropriately expends such funds.
3. If a grant is awarded, an amendment to the Fiscal Year
1995-1996 Operating Budget is authorized to reflect the receipt of
such funds.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 27th day of
September , 1995 by the following vote:
