CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A FEDERAL LIBRARY
SERVICES AND CONSTRUCTION ACT GRANT FROM
THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY FOR $16,000.00
AND APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT NO. 94-3 TO
THE 1993-1994 OPERATING BUDGET
WHEREAS, the Federal Library Services and Construction Act
makes grant funds available to local libraries and the California
State Library administers the distribution of said funds; and
WHEREAS, said funds will be utilized for the purchase of
materials for the West Orange and Grand Avenue Libraries on
subjects such as career and vocational guidance, educational
opportunities, small business start-up and management, local
businesses, citizenship, world languages, civil service
examinations, federal grant programs and computer instruction; and
WHEREAS, grant funds in the amount of $16,000.00 have been
approved by the California State Library for the South San
Francisco Library programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco as follows:
1. The City Manager, on behalf of the City of South San
Francisco, is hereby authorized to accept a grant in the amount of
$16,000.00 from the California State Library and execute any and
all documents necessary to receive such grant.
2. The amount of $16,000.00 is appropriated to the Library's
1993-1994 operating budget to be utilized for the purchase of said
materials.
3. There are no personnel costs associated with this grant
and no ongoing financial obligation for the City.
4. It is authorized as Budget Amendment No. 94-3 to the
Operating Budget.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the city of South San
Francisco at a requ]ar meeting held on the 27th day of
April , 1994 by the following vote:

Robert Yee and Mayor Joseph A. Fernekes
