HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 98-1993 RESOLUTION NO. 98-93 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SEWER RATES EFFECTIVE FY 1993-94 AND AMENDING THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE TO INCLUDE THE RATES WHEREAS, by Chapter 14.12 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code the City Council is authorized to establish sewer rates by resolution; and WHEREAS, the City Council has given notice and on July 28, 1993, held a public hearing as required by law on the subject sewer rates. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that it hereby adopts the schedule of rates set forth in the attached Exhibit "A" and hereby amends the City's Master Fee Schedule to include the rates. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect upon its adoption by two-thirds vote of all members of the City Council and that the rates so established shall be collected on the official tax assessment roll, together with real property taxes, and tha~ the amounts shall constitute liens upon the properties which shall be effective at the same time and to the same extent as is provided for by law in the case of real property taxes, with like penalties for delinquencies. Residential Class Single-family dwelling Multi-family dwelling (duplexes, flats, apartments, and similar class of uses) Annual Rate $112.00 per dwelling per year $112.00 per dwelling per year Trailer courts and similar class of uses Institutional Class Schools, colleges, rest homes, hospitals, clubs, lodges and similar class of uses: (1) Minimum charge,or (2) Volume charge, based on water consumed (metered inflow), or Volume charge, based on water consumed (metered effluent) $102.00 per dwelling unit per year $112.00 per year $1.238 per 100 cubic feet of water consumed $1.375 per 100 cubic feet of water consumed Commercial and Nonmonitored Industrial Class 1. Light Strength uses: Bars (without dining facilities), car washes, department and retail stores, hotels, motels, (without dining facilities), laundromats, professional and business offices, banks, savings and loan asso- ciations, warehouses, auto rentals (without repair shops), newspaper commercial printing shops, freight and drayage services, barbershops, shoe repair shops, camera shops, plating shops, wood and furniture fabricators, heating and appliance stores, drugstores, auto supply stores, general contractors' offices, public administration offices, health services, sheet EXHIBIT "A" - Page 1 of 3 1 metal shops, and similar classes of uses with waste water strengths approximately equivalent to residential strength. <a) Minimum charge, or Volume charge, based on water consumed (metered inflow), or Volume charge, based on water consumed (metered effluent) 2. Moderate Strength Uses: auto/gas service stations, auto steam cleaners, auto rentals (with repair shops), bakeries, beauty and hair salons, commercial laundries, mortuaries, lodges, (with dining facilities), radiator repair shops, markets (with garbage disposals), 5ce cream parlors, candy manufacturers, food preparations and caterers, sandwich shops, drive-in theaters, creameries, roofers, chemical preparations, paint preparations, machine shops, photo/film processors, rug, carpet, upholstery cleaners, foundries, ceramics studios, oil services, transmission services, sanitation services, furriers, drum and barrel cleaners, and similar classes of users with wastewater strengths significantly greater than residential strength. The user will be reclassified co the light strength uses classification if it adequately demonstrates to the city engineer it is discharging only segregated or wastewater equivalent in strength to residential wastewater.
