CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO AND THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO TO CONSIDER ADOPTION
OF THE PROPOSED REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE EL
CAMINO CORRIDOR REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
(the "City Council") has been informed by the Redevelopment Agency
of the City of South San Francisco (the "Agency") that a
Redevelopment Plan for the E1 Camino Corridor Redevelopment Project
Area (the "Plan") and a Report thereon have been prepared. The
Report on the Plan includes the Environmental Impact Report for the
Project; and
WHEREAS, the Agency has submitted copies of the Plan and
Report to this Council for its review; and
WHEREAS, there is a need for a joint public hearing with the
Agency to consider the Plan and Report, and to have interested
groups and citizens be heard on the Plan and Report.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of South Francisco hereby approves the convening of a joint
public hearing with the Agency on May 26, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. in the
Community Room of the Municipal Services Building, located at 33
Arroyo Drive, South San Francisco, California, for purposes of
considerSng the aforesaid Redevelopment Plan and Report thereon.
BE 2T FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed
to publish, in cooperation with the Agency, the "Legal Notice -
Joint PuDlic Hearing" which has been prepared by Agency staff, a
copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and by this
reference incorporated herein, not less than once a week for four
successive weeks in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general
circulatSon published in San Mateo County and circulated in the
City of South San Francisco.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby directs
the City Clerk to cooperate with the Agency in mailing a copy of
the aforesaid Notice to the last known assessee of each parcel of
land in the area designated in the aforesaid Plan, at the
assessee's last known address as shown on the last equalized roll
of San Mateo County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby directs
the City Clerk to cooperate with the Agency in mailing a copy of
the aforesaid Notice to the governing body of each of the taxing
agencies which levies taxes upon any property in the Project Area
designated in the proposed Plan.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 14th day of
April , 1993 by the following vote.

LEGAL NOTICE
JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco (the "City Council") and the Redevelopment
Agency of the City of South San Francisco (the "Agency") will
hold a joint public hearing on Wednesday, May 26, 1993 at 7:00
p.m. in the Community Room of the Municipal Services Building,
located at 33 Arroyo Drive, South San Francisco, California. The
hearing may be continued from time to time until completed. Any
person desiring the opportunity to be heard will be afforded an
opportunity to do so.
The purpose of the hearing is to consider the adoption of
the Redevelopment Plan for the E1 Camino Corridor Redevelopment
Project Area (the "Redevelopment Plan"). A further purpose of
the hearing is to consider approval of an Environmental Impact
Report regarding environmental impacts of the'Redevelopment Plan
and proposed amendments to the City's General Plan (the "EIR"),
prepared pursuant to State Law.
The Redevelopment Plan proposes to remove existing blighting
conditions in the Project Area in order to create developable
parcels. The Agency will participate with SAMTRANS and BART to
underground the proposed BART extension which will run along the
existing railroad right-of-way to ensure that parcels which
currently have limited use become.more developable. In addition,
the project includes covering portions of Colma Creek and
improvements to Oak Avenue to provide additional development
opportunities. The Agency will also assist in the development of
trarsit-oriented housing in the Project Area.
The Project Area is situated in the City of South San
Frarcisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, and is more
particularly described in Exhibit A following this Legal Notice,
which legal description is, by this reference, incorporated
herein.
Any and all persons having any comments on or objections to
the proposed Redevelopment Plan or the regularity of any prior
proceeding or who wish to speak on any issue raised by the
Redevelopment Plan or the EIR may appear at the hearing and show
cause why the proposed Redevelopment Plan should not be adopted.
In addition, at any time not later than the time set forth for
the hearing on the Redevelopment Plan, any person may file in

writing with the City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco a
statement of objections to the proposed Redevelopment Plan.
In accordance with the California Community Redevelopment
Law, the Agency has prepared a Report on the Redevelopment Plan.
Fur'thermore, the Report on the Redevelopment Plan will be open
for discussion at the hearing. The R6development Plan, Report on
the Redevelopment Plan, and Environmental Impact Report are
available for inspection in the offices of the Redevelopment
Agency of the City of South San Francisco, located at 400 Grand
Avenue, South San Francisco, California.
If any person desires to challenge in court the adoption of
the proposed Redevelopment Plan, the proposed approval of the EIR
or any proceedings in connection therewith, they may be limited
to raising only those issues that they or someone else raised at
the hearing described in this Notice, or in written
correspondence delivered to the Agency at, or prior to, the
public hearing.
This Notice is published pursuant to resolutions of the City
Council of the city of South San Francisco and the Redevelopment
Agency of the City of South San Francisco.
