CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE VACATION OF
A PART OF OLD SAN BRUNO ROAD
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
South San Fraucisco that this Council does hereby find,
order and determiue that:
1. City Couucil ou the 15th day of Juue ,
1964, adop~dits Resolutiou No. 3970 entitled "RESOLUTION
OF INTENTION TO VACATE A PART OF OLD SAN BRUNO ROAD."
2. Said resolutiou recites that the proceediugs were
undertakeu pursuant to the Street Vacation Act of 1941.
3. Said Resolution of Iuteutiou was duly published as
required by law and Notices of Heariug were duly posted in
the time, manner and form provided by law, all as appears
from the Affidavit of Publication and the Affidavit of Posting
ou file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
4. Mouday, the 20th day of July , 1964
at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Grand and Maple Avenues, South San Francisco,
California was fixed in said Resolutiou of Intentiou as the
time aud place wheu aud where auy aud all person interested in,
or haviug any obJectiou to, said proposed vacation could appear
before said Couucil aud be heard.
5. No objections of any kind or character have been, or
were made or filed against said vacation.
6. The public iuterest, couveulence aud necessity requires
the vacation and abaudonment of a part of old San Bruno Road
aud the Council does hereby order the vacation and abandonment
of the street and highway easemeut over a part of old Sau
Bruno Road described as follows:
All that certain real property situate in the City of
South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of
California and more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the Easterly line of the
former San Bruno Road, which point is the Northwesterly
corner of that certain 3.341 Acre portion of Parcel 26
as described iu the deed from the City and County of
San Francisco to Ed R. Guerin and wife, dated November 3,
1948 and recorded November 24, 1948 iu Book 1596 of
Official Records of San Mateo County at pa~e 544, which
is also the Southeasterly corner of Parcel-8, Lowrie
Avenue Improvement, Right of Way Acquisition Map;
t~euce proceediu~ in a Southwesterly direction South
Iv 22' 54" West ~or a distance of 43.54 feet to a
point; thence proceeding in a Southwesterly direction
on the arc of a curve to the left havin~ au an~le of
17° 36' 59" - -
· a radius of 696.15 feet and an arc
length of 215.82 feet to a point which meets the arc
of a reverse curve bearing to the right with a radius
of 25.10 feet· a central angle of 39~ 32' 30" and
proceeding on the arc of this curve for a distance
of 17.32 feet to a point which is on the east property
line of the Ken F. Royce property; thence turnin~ and
proceedin~ iua Northeasterly direction North 1°-22'
54" East,-a distance of 389.12 feet to a point ou the
southerly property line of the present Lowrie Avenue;
thence turning and proceeding in a Southeasterly
direction on the arc of a curve to the left with a
central angle of 34° 55' 47", a radius of 150 feet and
an arc length of 91.44 feet to a point which will be
the end of the arc and the beginniu~ of a tangent.
Proceediu~ on this tangent in a Southeasterly direction
South 60°-21' 22" East-for a distance of 3.57 feet to
a point on the easterly line of old San Bruno Road
and then turniu~ and proceeding iua Southwesterly
direction South-1° 22' 54" West, a distance of 57.42
feet to the true point of beginning.
The entire area being approximately 0.343 Acres.
7. The public interest, convenience and necessity
requires the reservation of easements and rights of way here-
inafter set forth and the vacation proceedings are taken
subject to such reservations and exceptions. The City does
hereby reserve and except the vacation and abandonment of a
part of old San Bruno Road the following:
A. No structure shall be constructed on the afore-
going parcel which will obstruct the view of Lowrie
Avenue from San Mateo Avenue in said City, or vice versa.
B. Public easements for the construction or re-
construction, improvement, maintenance and operation of
water mains, sewer mains and other utilities and, without
limiting the generality of the foregoin~ exception,
there is specifically reserved an easement for water
mains and appurtenances and for the construction, re-
construction and maintenance of same in, over, across and
upon said parcel as required by the City and County of
San Francisco.
C. An easement over Parcel 9 and 12, Block 1,
(Lowrie Avenue Improvement Right of Way Acquisition
Map) to accommodate the 27-inch V. C. P. sanitary
sewer line owned by the City of South San Francisco
and the 4-inch high pressure gas line owned by the
P.G.&E. Co., both facilities running easterly of the
property of Ken F. Royce G~ described as follows:
All that certain real property situate in the City of
South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
Starting at the Southwesterly corner of Lot 29,
Block l, as said lot and block are shown on that certain
map entitled "Person & Swanson Industrial Tract", South
San Francisco, San Mateo County, California, as filed
for record on September 5, 1961 in Book 55 of Maps
at pages 12 and 13 iu the office of the County Recorder
of San Mateo County; thence proceedin~ in a South-
westerly direction South 89° 51' 34" West 66.02 feet
to a point; thence turnin~ and proceeding in a North-
easterly direction, North-1° 22' 54" East for a dis-
tance of 125.33 feet to a point which is the true point
of beginning; thence turnin~ and proceeding in a South-
easterly direction ou the arc of a curve to the left
having a radius of 150 feet,.a8 arc length of 49.0
feet and a central an~le of 22 44' 22" to a point on
the Northwesterly property line of Lowrie Avenue, which
point is ou the arc of the curve and the easterly
easement line; thence turning and proceeding in a
SouthWesterly direction South 4° 57' 54" West for
a distance of 122.5 feet to a point; thence turning
and proceeding in a Southeasterly direction South 3°
04' 36" East for a distance of 105.8 feet to a point
(which point is ou the westerly property line of San
Mateo Avenue); thence turning in a Southwesterly direc-
tion ou the arc of a curve to the left, with a radius of
696.15 feet, a central au~le of 9° 19' 00" and an arc
length of 109.3 feet to a point, this point bein~ the
be~innin~ of a reverse curve bearing to the r~ght haviu~
a radius of 25.10 feet, a central au~le of 39u 32' 10" -
and au arc length of 17.32 feet to a point on the easterly
line of the Ken F. Royce property; thence turniu~ and pro-
ceedin~ iua Northeasterly direction North 1° 22¥ 54"
East 3~9.12 feet to the true point of beginning, this
easement as set forth above is to include the existiu~
27-inch V. C. P. sanitary sewer and manhole owned by
the City of South San Francisco and also the 4-inch
high pressure gas main and appurtenances owned by the
Pacific Gas & ElecDric Company.
D. En easement 5 feet on either side of the 2-
inch Water Service, from California Water Service 8-inch
main to the Ken F. Royce Co. property in South San
Francisco described as follows:
All that certain real property situate in. the City of
South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
Starting at the Southwesterly corner of Lot 29,
Block 1, as said lot and block are shown on that
certain map entitled "Person & Swanson Industrial Tract",
South San Francisco, San Mateo County, California, as
filed for record on September 5, 1961 iu Book 55 of
Maps at pages 12 and 13 in the office of the County
Recorder of San Mateo County; thence proceeding in a
Southwesterly direction South 89° 51' 34" West for a
distance of 30 feet; thence turniu~ and oroceediu~ iu
a Southwesterly direction South 1~-22' 5~" West f~r a
distance of 92.2 feet to a point, which is the true
point of beginning; thence from this point the ease-
ment will be 5 feet on either side of the following
described line, from the true point of begiuuiu~ pro-
ceediug iua Southwesterly direction South 89° 51' 34"
West for a distance 36.0 feet to a point ou the easterly
property line of the Ken F. Royce Co. property and
there terminating.
E. An easement 5 feet on either side of the Power
Pole Line serving the Ken F. Royce property iu South
San Francisco, described as follows:
All that certain real property situate iu the City of
South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
Starting at the Southwesterly corner of Lot 29,
Block l, as said lot and block are shown ou that certain
map entitled "Person & Swanson Industrial Tract", South
San Francisco, San Mateo County, California, as filed
for record on September 5, 1961, in Book 55 of Maps at
pages 12 and 13 in the office of the COunty Recorder
of San Mateo County; thence proceedin~ iua South-
westerly direction South 89° 51' 34" ~est for a distance
of 30 feet to a point; thence turning and proceeding iu
a Southwesterly direction South 1° 22' 54" West 45 feet
to the true point of beginning; thence from this point
the easement will be 5 feet ou either side of the follow-
ing described line from the true point of be~iunin~ pro-
ceeding iua Southwesterly direction South 72° 01'-34"
West for a distance of 38 feet to the east property line
of the Ken F. Royce property and there terminating.
F. Au easement 5 feet on either side of the 12-
inch Storm Drain Line running from the Ken F. Royce
property to the ditch under City and County of San Fran-
cisco 4A-inch Water Main, in South San Francisco, des-
cribed as follows:
All that certain real property situate in the City of
South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
Starting at the Southwesterly corner of Lot 29,
Block l, as said lot and block ape shown on that certain
map entitled "Person & Swanson Industrial T~act" South
San Francisco, San Mateo County, California, as filed
for record ou September 5, 1961 in Book 55 of Maps at
pa~es 12 and lB iu the office of the County Recorder
of San Mateo County; thence proceeding iua South-
westerly direction South 89° 51' 34" West for a distance
of 30 feet to a point; thence tur~iu~ and proceediu~ iu
a Northeasterly direction North Iv 2~t 54" East for a
distance of 39 feet to the true point of beginning;
thence the easement will be 5 feet ou either side of
the line described as follows: continuing from the

G. A 30-foot easement over parcel quitclaimed to
accommodate San Francisco City and County 44-inch Water

(8-inch Water Line) and Pacific Telephone & Telegraph
Company Facilities, East of the Ken F. Royce property
described as follows:
All that certain real property situate in the City of
South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southwesterly corner of Lot 29,
Block l, as said lot and block are shown ou that
certain map entitled "Person & Swanson Industrial Tract",
South San Francisco, San Mateo County, California, as
filed for record ou September 5, 1961 iu Book 55 of
Maps at pages 12 and 13 iu the office of the County;
thence proceediu~ iua Southwesterly direction South
1° 22' 54" West for a distance of 43.54 feet to a point;
thence turning and proceeding along the arc of a curve
which bear~ left, with a radius of 696.15 feet, a central
angle of 6~ 39' 18" and au arc distance of 81.53 feet
to a point; thence turniu~oaud proceeding in a North-
easterly direction North ~ 22' 54" East for a distance
of 197.72 feet to a point; thence turuiu~ and proceeding
in a Southeasterly direction on the arc of a curve to the
left with a radius of 150 feet~ au arc distance of 32.60
feet and a central au~le of 12~ 2?' 55" to a point;
thence proceeding iua Southeasterly direction South
60° 21' 22" East for a distance of 3.57 feet to a point;
thence turuiu~ and proceediu~ iua Southwesterly direction
South 1° 22' ~4" West, 5?.42-feet to the point of begin-
ning.
8. The City Clerk of said City shall cause a certified
copy of this resolution and order, attested under the seal of
said City, to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder
of the County of San Mateo.
