1. Called to Order: 6:32 p.m.
2. Roll Call: Present: Present: Councilmembers Addiego,
Gonzalez and Matsumoto, Vice Mayor
Garbarino, Mayor Mullin.
3. Agenda Review.
None.
4. Public Comments — comments were limited to items on the Special Meeting Agenda.
None.
5. Interview applicants for Multiple Positions.
Council interviewed applicants as follows: Alex Khalfin (Planning Commission; Parks and
Recreation Commission); Juan Bustos (Planning Commission; Parks and Recreation
Commission); and Nakshin Shah (Planning Commission; Parking Place Commission; Cultural
Arts Commission). Charles Huang (Planning Commission; Parks and Recreation Commission)
and Edwin Chan (Planning Commission; Parks and Recreation Commission) were unavailable to
be interviewed.
5. Interview additional applicant for Cultural Arts Commission.
Council interviewed the additional applicant to fill the Cultural Arts Commission Vacancy as
follows: Jaqueline Pettinari.
6. Interview additional applicants for the Parking Place Commission.
Council interviewed additional applicants to fill the Parking Place Commission Vacancy as
follows: Linda Parenti. Frank Roman was unavailable for an interview.
7. Interview additional applicants for the Planning Commission.
Council interviewed additional applicants for vacant and term expired seats on the Planning
Commission as follows: Mary Giusti; Wallace Moore; William Zemke; Eugene Sim; Carlos
Martin; John Bermudez; and Raymond Rothwell. Linda Loeffler withdrew her application for
the Commission.
8. Interview additional applicants for the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Council interviewed additional applicants for vacant and term expired seats on the Parks and
Recreation Commission as follows: John Rankins; Douglas Reynolds; Susie McFarland; David
Venturini; and Sean Garrone.
9. Discussion and appointment of applicant to the Cultural Arts Commission.
Council may appoint one (1) applicant to a term to expire June 13, 2012.
After discussion, Council voted by ballot yielding the following result: Jaqueline Pettinari was
appointed to fill the vacancy on the Cultural Arts Commission. Her term would expire June 13,
2012.
Motion — Vice Mayor Garbarino /Second — Councilman Addiego. To appoint Jaqueline Pettinari
to the Cultural Arts Commission for a term to expire June 13, 2011. Unanimously approved by
voice vote.
10. Discussion and appointment of applicant to the Parking Place Commission.
Council may appoint one (1) applicant to a term to expire December 31, 2013.
After discussion, Council voted by ballot yielding the following result: Linda Parenti was
appointed to a term to expire December 31, 2013.
Motion — Councilman Addiego /Second — Vice Mayor Garbarino: To appoint Linda Parenti to
the Parking Place Commission for a term to expire December 31, 2013. Unanimously approved
by voice vote.
11. Discussion and appointment of applicants to the Planning Commission.
Council may appoint one (1) applicant to a term to expire December 31, 2012.
Council may appoint three (3) applicants to respective terms expiring December 31,
2014.
After discussion, Council voted by ballot yielding the following result: Carlos Martin was
appointed to a partial term to expire December 31, 2012. Mary Giusti, Bill Zemke and Eugene
Sim were appointed to full terms to expire December 31, 2014.
Motion — Councilman Gonzalez /Second — Vice Mayor Garbarino: To appoint Carlos Martin to a
partial term to expire December 31, 2012. Unanimously approved by voice vote.
Motion — Vice Mayor Garbarino /Second Councilman Gonzalez: To appoint Mary Giusti, Bill

Zemke and Eugene Sim to respective terms to expire December 31, 2014. Unanimously
approved by voice vote.
12. Discussion and appointment of applicants to the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Council may appoint three (3) applicants to respective terms expiring December 31,
2014.
After discussion, Council voted by ballot yielding the following result: Sean Garrone, Alex
Khalfin and Doug Reynolds were appointed to terms expiring December 31, 2014.
Motion — Vice Mayor Garbarino /Second — Councilwoman Matsumoto. To appoint Sean
Garrone, Alex Khalfin and Doug Reynolds to respective terms expiring December 31, 2014.
Unanimously approved by voice vote.
15. Adjournment.
Being no further business, Mayor Mullin adjourned the meeting at 9:25 p.m.
