CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSU-
ANCE OF A COMMENDATION CERTIFICATE
TO SUSAN JOHNDROW
WHEREAS, we as citizens, allocate to professional law
enforcement officers the immediate duty of apprehending and
restraining those engaged in acts offensive to law and order,
and
WHEREAS, we as citizens, carry a complementary duty to
constructively aid the professional law enforcement officer
in order that he may successfully serve the purposes of a
peaceful and law abiding society, and
WHEREAS, SUSAN JO~NDROW, on February 17, 1965, at the
Bank of America Branch in Buri Buri of South San Francisco,
California, did courageously respond to her duty as a citizen
in that she escaped from the armed robbers without being de-
tected and informed the Police Department by telephone of the
fact that a bank robbery was in process, thereby giving the
first warning and aiding in the immediate apprehension of
the bank robbers without loss of life or property, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Fran-
cisco desires to commend her for a courageous response to
duty as a citizen.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco does hereby commend SUSAN JOHNDROW and author-
izes the Mayor and Chief of Police of said City to issue to
her a Commendation Certificate.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 1st day of March
19 65...., by the following vote:
