A P~ESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PEPuMiT TO MACY'S
CALIFOP~NiA TO ESTABLISH A PARTICULAR USE OF AN
APPROXi~MATE 30-ACRE PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED ON
THE EASTERLY SIDE OF EL CAMIN0 REAL APPROXiaMAT-
ELY 350 ?T. SOUTHERLY OF HICKEY BOULEVARD iN A
C-i DiSTRiCT
BE iT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Franclsco that
WHEREAS, the Council has received the report an~ recom-
mendations of the Planning Commission and several and various
doc'~men~s and communications, and received oral presenv, a'~ions,
each and all of which have been congidered and made a pa~-~ oz' this
record in this preceeding, and
Wi~REAS, the Council has duly considered same and evaluated
the propose~ use !nd its effects.
_. ?ne Council makes the following findings:
a. The subject property is kocaze~ in a C-i Zoning
District and consists of an approximate 30-acre
parcel of land in the City of South Ssa~, Francisco,
bcunded by the easterly, side of Hickey Boulevard,
'~.'.e northerly side of E1 Camino Real, and
~ southerly side of a 60-foot s~rlp cf ~~~d owned
by the City and County of San Franclsco~ which
property is more particularly described in Exhibit
A attached hereto.
o. The uses described in paragraph 2(a) hereof have
been found in ~he opinion of the Planning
Commission to be of a similar nazure Zo ~he uses

'specifically Section 3.43(b)) of Ordinance of
the City of South San Francisco No. 353, as
amended by Ordinance No. 356, Ordinance?~No./365
and Ordinance No. 376.
The Council does find upon the report and recom-
mendations of the Planning Commission and the several
and various documents and communications received
and oral presentations made by the several persons
to the Council, all of which have been considered
and made a part of the record of this proceeding,
that such proposed use will not under the circum-
stances of the particular case be detrimental to
the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort and
general welfare of persons residing or working in
the neighborhood of .such proposed use and will not
be detrimental or injurious to property and improve-
ments in the neighborhood or the general welfare of
the City.
The Site Utilization Plan for such proper~y, a copy
of which is attached hereto as Exhibit B~ shows zhe
following:
1. The proposed realignment of Colma Creek through
the subject property;
2. The proposed location of sanitary sewers and
storm drains;
3. The proposed location of building;
4. The proposed relocation of the San Francisco
Water Department's water transmission line;
and
5. The proposed location of a 26 foo~ circulatory
road.

The Council orders that:
a. A permit issue to Macy's California to use said
property as a department store service center,
which purpose includes any one or more o~ the
following uses:
1. For receiving, checking, marking, storage,
warehousing and distribution of merchandise;
R. Fo~ assembly of fur~niture and preparation of
television sets and major appliances for
delivery to customers;
3.For sale of merchandise;
4.For offices;
5. For workshops, vehicles, equipment, supplies, and
records incident to any of the foregoing
b. Said Permit is issued on the following terms and
conditions:
1. That the locations and grades of all sanitary
sewers, storm drains and grading contours shall
meet the reasonable requirements of the Direczor
of Public Works;
2. That adequate ingress and egress be provided
to the property from E1 Camino Real with
capacity for handling traffic flow in accordance
with the reasonable standards of the Police
Department;
3. That there be installed a water main service
for the subject property of not less than 12~:
which main shall be looped and hydrants in-
stalled at 300' intervals, with the onset
placement of the hydrants to be determined
after examination of the plans by the Fire Deparz-
ment;

4. That the fire alarm system be extended and two fire
alarm boxes be installed, said boxes to be on pedestals,
the final placement of which shall be approved by the
Fire Department;
5. That a roadway completely encircling the complex of
not less than 26' in width with an inside tanning radius
of not less than 25' in width be constructed to provide
access to all portions of said complex; and
6. That before a building permit is issued for phases B, D
or E as shown on the Site Utilization Plan, the permittee
shall file an amended Site UtflizationPlan showing that
such construction does not interfere with the route of
Hickey Boulevard extension ff the final route alignment has
been officially approved and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San l~rancisco, by the Town Council of
the City of Colma, and by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of San Mateo, or the realignment of E1 Camino Real
if~' a final route alignment has been approved by the State
Highway Engineer~ provided, however, that if at the time
permittee applies for a building permit for phasesB, D, or E,
no route has been approved as aforementioned for Hickey
Boulevard extension, and the realignment of E1 Camino Real
has not been officially approv ' as aforemen oned, the
required building permit shall be issued without regard to
this condition 5.

Exhibit A
