CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ORDERING UP-35 OF THE SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO PLANNING COMMISSION TO STAND APPROVED
UPON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CERTAIN CONDITIONS
BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION (LUCKY STORES SIGN -
WESTBOROUGH CALLAN BOULEVARD)
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that:
WHEREAS, the Council, after hearing duly noticed, has
considered the appeal of Lucky Stores, Inc. from an order
of the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francis-
co denying UP-35, which concerned the placement of an approxi-
mately 108 square-foot sign on the rear wall of a market in
the PC District known as West Park 1 and 2, and
WHEREAS, the Council, after considering the report of
the Planning Commission and the representations by applicant,
finds that the development of the residential area in the PC
District has been impeded and that the establishment of the
sign as requested for a period of one year will not under
the circumstances of the particular case be detrimental to
the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort and general wel-
fare of persons residing or working in the neighborhood of
such proposed use, and will not be detrimental or injurious
to property and improvements in the neighborhood or to the
general welfare of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the sign request set
forth in UP-35 of the South San Francisco Planning Commission
shall stand granted upon the establishment and approval of
terms and conditions prescribed by the Planning Commission,
which conditions will include
1) a time limitation of one year, and
2) removal of cardboard signs presently located on
the premises
