TI~ WORK AND CALLING BIDS FOR
1967 TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECT AT
LINDEN AVENUE AND HILLSIDE BOULEVARD
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco, California, that
WHEREAS, plans and specifications providing for cer-
tain improvcment work have been submitted, which plans and
specifications are entitled:
"1967 Traffic Signal Project At Linden
Avenue and Hillside Boulevard"
and,
WIIEREAS~ the City Council desires to approve said plane
and specifications, authorize the work and call for sealed
proposals;
NOW, THEREFOP. g, IT 15 UMRKBY ORDERED that:
1. The plans and specifications hereinbefore named and
identified are hereby apt,roved and the work therein provided
in hereby authorized, and said plan8 and specifications are
referred to and by thio reference made a part hereof the
oa~e as if recited herein verbatim.
2. The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to
p,~b].ish by two (2) consecutive insertions in the "Enter-
pri8e-Journal", a newspaper published and circulated in said
City, a notice invitin~ sealed proposals or bide for said
work in accordance with Cho plans and specifications herein-
-before named and identified and on file in the Office of the
City Clerk, the first of which publication shall be at least
ten (lO) days prior to the time fixed for openin§ bids. A
copy of said notice entitled "Notice To Btdder~" is attached
}~ereto and referred to and by this reference made a part
i~cz'eof as if set forth verbatim herein.
All proposals or bids shall be accompantcd by a cashier's
or certified check, payable to tho order of the City of South
San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten per
cent (lO~) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount
drawn in favor of said City and executed by a corporate
surety. Said check shall be forfeited by bidder, or said
bond shall become payable to said City in case the low-
e.~t responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the same
does not, within the tim.- set forth in said plans and
specifications, enter into c contract with said City, the
faithful performance' of which shall be guaranteed by an
undertaking in the amdunt of one hundred per cent (lOOf.)
of the sum bid, said undertaking being that of a corporate
surety satisfactory to said City Council, and which con
.
tract shall be accompanied by a labor and materials bond
of a corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred
per cent (100/.) of the amount of said bid, as required by
the provisions of Title l, Division 5, Chapter 3, of the
Government Code of the State of California, In case of a
forfeiture, as provided for in the preceding sentence, the
defaultin~ bidder shall bo liable to said City for any
additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in
connection with obtainin5 full and complete performance of
the particular work of improvement with which this Notice
to Bidders is concerned.
3. Bids will be received by the City of South San
Francisco, California, at the Office of the City Manager
of said City, City lhll, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco,

publication of notice, the bids will be publicly opened,
examined and declared at said time and place and award will

which rii~ht is hereby reserved.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, TO-WIT,. 1967 TRAFFIC

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for the furnishing
of materials for, and the performance of, the public work herein-
after described will be received by the City of South San FrancisCo,
California, at the office of the City Manager of said city, City
Hall, Grand Avenue~ South San Francisco, Californiav at or beform~.

notice. All bids will be publicly opened, examined and decl~d at

The work hereinbefore referred to consists of the follo~ing~

locations indicated on the plans.
Said work shall include the furnishing and supplying
necessary labor and materials.
It is requested that all bids be submitted on both a unit and
group basis because said city reserves the right to make award of
contract on either a unit or group basis.
All said work is to be done at the places and in the particular
locations, and in accordance with the forms, sizes, di~ensions, and
materials and'to the lines and grades, and in conformance to the pro-
files, detailed drawings, and specifications therefor which have
heretofore been approved and adopted by said City Council and Which
are presently on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city,
Reference is hereby made to said plans, profiles, detailed drawingst
and specifications for further particulars, copies of which may be
procured from said City Clerk upon th making of a deposit of
TEN DOLLARS ($ 10.00 ~ per set, of which sum ;iF~
DOLLARS ($5.00 ) will be refunded upon the return of sa~d ~ians
and specifications in good condition within SEVeNTY-TWO (72)
after the bid date.

For all wage scales and classifications not listed above
rectly shown~ the prevailing Union Scale established for
County shall apply.
