RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco, Cali£ornia, that
WHEREAS, plans and opeci£ications providing £or cer-
tain improvcment work have been submitted, which plans and
specifications are entitled=
"Improvements to Parks Corporation Yard"
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve said plans
and specifications, nutborize the work and call for sealed
proposals;

· l. The plans and specifications hereinbe£ore named and
identified are hereby approved and the work therein provided
to hereby attti~ort~ed, and enid pinna and specifications are
referred to and by thio reference made a part hereof the
~ame as if recited herein verbatim.
2. The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to
publish by two (2) consecutive insertions in tho "Enter-
prise-Journal", a newspaper published and circulated in said
City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for said
work in accordanc~ with the plans and specifications herein-
before named and identified and on file in the Office of the
City Clerk, the first of which publication shall be at least
ten (10) days prior to the time fixed for opening bids. A
copy of said nogico entitled "Notice To Bidders" io attached
hereto and referred to and by this reference m~do a part
hereof as if set forth verbatim herein.
All proposals or bide shall be accompanied by a cashier's
or certified check, payable to the orde~ of the City of South
San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten per
cent (lO~) o[ the bid [isure, or by a bond in said amount
dra~m in favor of said City and executed by a corporate
outcry. Said check shall be forfeited by bidde~r, or said
bond shall become ~yabl. e to oaid .City in cane the low-
cat re~ponsible bidder (or biddero) depositing the same
dose not, within tho time sot forth in; said pIans and
specifications, enter into a contract with said City, the

tract shall be accompanied by a labor and materials bond
of a corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred
per cent (lOOi) of the amount of said bid, as required by
the provisions of Title I, Division 5, Chapter 3, of the
Government Code of the State o/California. In case of a
forfeiture, as provided for in the precedin~ sentence, the

connection with obtaining full and complete performance o£
the particular ~ork of improvement with which this Notice

NOTICE CALLING FOR BIDS FOR THE FURNISHING OF
MATERIALS ~FOR, AND TBE PERFOP~ANCE OF, CEHTAIN
PUBLIC WORK AND IMP~OVE~F, NT IN THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, TO-~IT,
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE PARKS CORPORATION YARD
ORANGE MEMORIAL PARK
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for the furnishing
of materials fort and the performance of, the public work herein-
after described will be received by the City of South San Francisco,
California, at the office of the City Manager of said city, City
Hall, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, California, at or before
the hour of l lo'clock a.m., on ,
the 15 day of May 196~, said time being
not less than ten (10) days from the first publication of this
notice. All bids will be publicly open~d~ examined and declared at
said time and place. Award of contract will thereafter be made by
the City Council of said city to the lowest responsible bidder or
bidders, subject, however, to the right of said City Council to re-
ject any and all bids, which right is hereby reserved.
The work hereinbefore referred to consists of the following:
Furnishing supplies, materials, tools, labor and superintendence
of all operations to accomplish the cost of crews quarters, eq¥.ipment qara~e
and asphalt paving at Orange Memorial Park. Operations shall involve
concrete flatwork! carpentry, plumbinq, electrical, mechanical, paintirkg,
asphaltic paving and finishinq.
Said work shall include the furnishing and supplying of all
necessary labor and materials.
It is requested that all bids be submitted on both a unit and
group basis because said city reserves the right to make award of
contract on either a unit or group basis.
All said work is to be done at the places and in the particular
locations, and in accordance with the forms, sizes, dimensions, and
materials and to the lines and grades, and in conformance to the pro-
files, detailed drawings, and specifications therefor which have
heretofore been approved and adopted by said City Council and which
are presently on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city.
Reference is hereby made to said plans, profiles, detailed drawings,
and specifications for further particulars, copies of which may be
procured from said City Clerk upon the making of a deposit of
Ten DOLLARS ($ 10.00 ) per set, of which sum ~we~
DOLLARS ($ 5.00 ) will be refunded upon the return of said plans
and specifications in good condition within SEVENTY-TWO (72) HOURS
after the bid date.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's, or

Francisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of
i the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount drawn in favor of said
iCity and executed by a corporate surety. Said check shall be for-

case the lowest responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the same
!does not, within the time set forth in said plans and specifications,
enter into a contract with said City, the faithful performance of
which shall be guaranteed by an undertaking in the amount of one
hundred percent (100%) of the sum bid, said undertaking being that
.of a corporate surety satisfactory to said City Council, and which
,contract shall be accompanied by a labor and materials bond of a
icorporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%)
of the amount of said bid, as required by the provisions of Title I,
~Division 5, Chapter S, of the Government Code of the State of
iCalifornia. In case of a forfeiture, as provided for in the pre-
!ceding sentence, the defaulting bidder shall be liable to said City
.for any additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in
~connection with obtaining full and complete performance of the
!particular work of improvement with which this Notice to Bidders
is concerned.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of said City has
heretofore established the prevailing wage scale for~per diem rates
to be paid to all craftsmen and laborers in connection with the
work to be done pursuant to said plans and specifications, which is
as follows:
