RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco, California, that
WHEREAS, plans and specifications providing for cer-
tain improvement work have been submitted, which plans and
specifications are encitled~
"Painting and Waterproofing Central Fire Station -
Baden Avenue at Cypress Avenue, South San Fran-
cisco. California"
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires Co approve said plans
and specifications, authorize the work and call for sealed
proposals;
NOW, TILgI~_.FOP, E, IT IS ItERKBY ORDERED that:
1. The plans and Specifications hereinbefore named and
identified are hereby approved and the work therein provided
is hereby authorized, and said plans and specifications are
referred co and by thio reference made a part hereof the
same as if recited herein verbatim.
2. The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to
publish by two (2) consecutive insertions in the "Enter-
prise-Journal", anewspaper published and circulated in said
City, a notice inv~tin~ sealed proposals or bids for said
work in accorda0ce with the plans and specifications herein-
before named and identified and on file in the Office of the
City.Clerk, the first of which publication shall be aC least
ten (lO) days prior Co the time fixed for opening bids. A
copy o£ said notice entitled "Notice ~o Bidders" is attached
hereto and referred to and by this reference made a part
hereof as if set forth verbatim herein.
All Proposals or bids shall be. accompanicd by a cashier~s
or certified check, payable to the order o~ the City of Sou~h
San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less tb~n ten per.
cent (10~) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount
dra~m in £avor of said City and executed by a corporate
surety. Said check shall bo for£eited by bidder, or said
bond shall become payable to said City in case the low-
est responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the same
does not, within the time aec forth in said plans and
specifications, enter into a contract with said City, the
£aithful performance'o[ which shall be §uaranteed by an_
undertakin~ in the amount of one hundred per cent (100~)
of the sum bid. said undcrtakin5 bele§ that of a corporate
surety satis£actory to said City Council, and which con-
tract shall be accompanied by a'labor and .~terials bond
of a corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred
per cent (100~) of the amount o£ said bid, as required by
the provisions o£ Title I, Division 5, Chapter 3, o£ the
6overnment Code of the State of Cali£ornia. In case o£ a
forfeiture, as provided for in the preceding sentence, the
defaulti.~ bidder shall be liable to said City for any
additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in
connection with obtainin5 £ull and complete performance o~
the particular work of improvement with which this ~otice

3. Bids will be received by the City of South San
Francisco, California, at the Office of the City Manaser
of said City, City thll, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco,

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for the furnishing
of materials for, and the performance of, the public work herein-
after described will be received by the City of South San Franciscov
California,.at the office of the City Manager of said city, City
Hall, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, California, at or before
the hour of 2:00 o'clock p.m., on Wednesday ,

the City Council of said city to the lowest responsible bidder or

The work hereinbefore referred to consists of the following:

Said work shall include the furnishing and supplying of all
necessary labor and materials.
It is requested that all bids be suh~itted on both a unit and
group basis because said city reserves the right to make award of
contract on either a unit or group basis.'
All said work is to be done at the places and in the particular
locations, and in accordance with the forms, sizes, dimensions, and
materials and;to the lines and grades, and in conformance to the pro-
files, detailed drawings, and specifications therefor which have
heretofore been approved and adopted by said City Council and which
are presently on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city.
Reference is hereby made to said plans, profiles, detailed drawings,
and specifications for. further particulars, copies of which may be
procured from said City Clerk upon the making of a deposit of
TEN DOLLARS ($10,00 ) per set, of which sum FIVE
DOLLARS ($ 5,00 ) will be refunded upon the return of said plans
and specifications in good condition within SEVEI~TY-TWO (72) HOURS
after the bid date:

the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount drawn in favor of said
City and-executed by a corporate surety. Said check shall be for-
feited by bidder, or said bond shall become payable to said City in

does not, within the time set 'forth in said plans and specifications~
enter into a contract with said City, the faithful performance of
which shall be guaranteed by an undertaking in the amount of one
hundred percent (100%) of the sum bid, said undertaking being that
of a corporate surety 'satisfactory to said City Council, and which
contract shall, be accompanied by a labor and materials bond of a
corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%)
of the amount of said bid, as required by the provisions of Title I,
Division 5, Chapter 3, of the Government Code of the State of
California. In case of a forfeiture, as provided for in the Pre-
ceding sentence, the defaulting bidder shall be liable to said City
.for any additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in
connection with obtaining full and complete performance of the
particular work of ~nprovement with which this Notice to Bidders
is concerned.

to be paid to all craftsmen and laborers in connection with tho
work to be done pursuant to said plans and-specifications~which ks
