CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NAMING OF THE
BASEBALL FIELD AT BADEN HIGH SCHOOL IN HONOR
OF MIKE CALLERO
WHEREAS, Dee Callero Canepa submitted a request with an attached letter of support
from Vince Leveroni requesting that the baseball field at Baden High School be named in honor
of Mike Callero; and
WHEREAS, the request and letter of support highlight that Mr. Callero was a volunteer
youth sports coach for 43 years and very involved the South San Francisco Youth Baseball
Association, including serving as President of the League; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Callero organized many fundraisers in order to keep fees affordable for
families; and
WHEREAS, the Callero family has expressed the desire to make an ongoing commitment
to further upgrades at the Baden High School field, and to adopt the field and provide long term
sponsorship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby approves naming the baseball field at Baden High School
in honor of the late Mike Callero.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 14 day of
September 2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto,
Vice Mayor Richard A. Garbarino and Mayor Kevin Mullin
NOES: None

ABSENT: None
