HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 4717-1967RESOLUTION NO. 4717 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTII SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFOIL~IA A P,E$OLU~IO~I APP~.OVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AUTItORiZING TILE, ~0~ AND ~ING BIDS FOR TENNIS COURT I~PRO~NTS~ O~NGE ~OR~L PA~ RESOLVED by the City Council o£ the City o£ South San Francisco, Cali£ornia, that WHEREAS, plans and specifications providtn§ for cer- tain improvcment work have been submitted, which plans mid specifications are entitled: Tennis ~ourt. I~p~ov~ments Orange memorlaA ~arm South San Francisco, California 1967 and, WHEREAS, tho City Council desires to approve said plans and specifications, authorize the work and call for sealed proposals; NOW, THEREFOPJi, IT IS IIEREBY ORDERED that: 1. The plans and specifications hereinbefore named and identified are hereby approved and the work therein provided is hereby authorized, and ~aid plans and specifications are referred to and by thio reference made a part hereof the 6ama a8 if recited herein verbatim. 2. The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to publish by two (2) consecutive in~ertions in the "Enter- prise-Journal", a newspaper published and circulated in said City, a notice tnv!tin~ sealed proposal8 or bids for said work in accordance with tbs plans and specifications herein- before named a.d identified and on file in the Office of the City Clerk, the first of which publication shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the time fixed, for openin§ bids. A copy of said notice entitled "Notice ~o Bidders" is attached hereto and referred to and by this reference made a part hereof as if set forth verbatim herein. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check, payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten per cent (lO~) of the bid £isure., or by a bond in said amount drawn in favor of said City and executed by a corporate surety. In case of a forfeiture, as provided for in the precedin~ sentence, the defaultin~ bidder shall be liable to said City for any additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in connection with obtainin8 full and complete performance of the particular work of improvement with which this Notice to Bidders is ooncerned. 3. California ]q~7 NOTICE IS H~HEBY GIVEN that sealed bids for the furnishing of materials for, and the performance of, the public work herein- after described will be received by the City of South San Francisco, California, at the office of the City Manager of sald city, City Hall, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, California, at or before the hour of t~o o'clock the ~th day of Auaust 196-~, said tlme belng not less than ten (10) days ][rom the flrst publication of this notlce. The work hereinbefore referred to conslsts of the following: The construction of tennis courts, bocci courts, horseshoe oits. walks, parking area, l iqhtinq and related aoourtenances as set f~i~t~ on plans entitled "Tennis Court Imorovements. Oranoe ttemorial Park, South San Francisco. California. dated June 20. 1957". lm Said work shall include the furnishing and supplying of all necessary labor and materials. It is requested that all bids be submitted on both a unit and group basis because said city reserves the right to make award of contract on either a unit or group basis. All said work is to be done at the places and in the particular locations, and in accordance with the forms, sizes, d~ensions, and materials and'to the lines and grades, and in conformance to the pro- files, detailed drawings, and specifications therefor which have heretofore been approved and adopted by said City Council and which are presently on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city. Reference is hereby made to said plans, profiles, detailed drawings~ and specifications for further particulars, copies of which may be procured from said City Clerk upon the making of a deposit of TEN DOLLARS ($ 10.00 ) per set, of which sum FIVE DOT~.&RS ($ S.00 ) will be refunded upon the return of said plans and specifications in good condition within SEVENTY-TWO (72) HOUR~ after the bid date. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashierts, or certified, check payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount drawn in favor of said City and executed by a corporate surety. Said check shall be for- feited by bidder, or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the lowest responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the same does not, within the time set forth in said plans and specifications, enter into a contract with said City, the faithful performance of which shall be guaranteed by an undertaking in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the sum bid, said undertaking being that of a corporate surety satisfactory to said City Council, and which contract shall be accompanied by a labor and materials bond of a corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of said bid, as required by the provisions of Title I~ Division 5, Chapter 3, of the Government Code of the State of California.
