HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 4762-1967RES OLb~£ I ON NO. 476~ CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING PI,ANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, At?i'HORIZING THE WORK AND CALLING BIDS FOR OAK AVENUE STORM DRAIN RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that WHEREAS, plans and spc:cifications providing for cer- tain improvement work have 'been submitted, which plans and specifications are entitled: Oak Avenue Storm Drain and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve said plans and specifications, authorize the work and call for sealed proposals; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that: 1. The plans and specifications hereinbefore named and identified are hereby approved and the work therein provided is hereby authorized, an~[ said plans and specifications are referred to and by this ~'e.ference made a part hereof the same as if recited h~ ...... ~.i?'~ ...... .~,'erbatim. 2. The City Ci¢~?k .~i~f said City is hereby directed to publish by two (2) con~=~.u, tive~''''" "insertions in the "Enter- prise-Journal," a newspaper published and circulated in said City, a notice inviting sealed, proposals or bids for said work in accordance with the plans and specifications herein- before named and identified and on file in the Office of the City Clerk, the first of which publication shall be at least .ten (10) days prior to the time fixed for opening bids. A copy of said notice enuitled "Notice to Bi~ders" is attached hereto and referred to a~d by this reference made a part hereof as if ~e= forth verbatim herein. All proposals or bids Shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certifica check, payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten per cent (10%) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount drawn in favor of said City and executed by a corporate surety. Said check shall be forfeited by bidder, or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the low- est responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the same does not, within the time set forth in said plans and specifications, enter .into a contract with said City, the faithful performance of which shall be guaranteed by an undertaking in the amount of one hundred per cent (100~) of the sum bid, said undertaking being that of a corporate surety'satisfactory to said City Council, and which con- tract shall be accompanied by a labor and materials bond of a corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred per cent (100%) of the amount of said bid, as required by the provisions of Title I, Division 5, Chapter 3, of the Government Code of the State of California. In case of a forfeiture, as provided for in the preceding sentence, the defaulting bidder shall be liable to said City for any additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in connection with obtaining full and complete performance of the particular work of improvement with which this Notice to Bidders is concerned. 3. Bids will be received by the City of South San Francisco, California, at the Office of the City Manager of said City, City Hall, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, California, at or before the hour of 2:00 p.m. on Monday , the 4th day of _. December , 19 67 said time not being less than ten (10) days i~rom the first publication of notice, the bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared at said time and placeand award will thereafter be made by the City Council of said City to the lowest responsibke bidder or bidders, subject, however, to the right of said City Council to reject any and all bids, which right is hereby reserved. Rozzi NOES, None ABSENT, " Emilio Cortesi NOTICE TO BIDDERS NOTICE CALLING FOR BIDS FOR THE FURNISHING OF MATERIALS FORT AND THE PERFORMANCE OFT CERTAIN PUBLIC WORK AND I~PROVEMENT IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCOT TO-WITT "OAK AVENUE STORM DRAIN" NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for the furnishing of materials for~ and the performance of~ the public work herein- after described will be received by the City of South San Francisco, California, at the office of the City Manager of said city~ City Hall~ Grand Avenue~ South San Francisco~ California~ at or before the hour of 2:00 o'clock p. m., on Nonday , the 4th day of December 19W~, said time being not less than ten (10) days from the first publication of this notice. All bids will be publicly opened~ examined and declared at said time and place. Award of contract will thereafter be made by the City Council of said city to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders~ subject~ however~ to the right of said City Council to re- Ject any and all bids~ which right is hereby reserved. The work hereinbefore referred to consists of the following: Item 1 - Furnish and install 39" RCP, B & S/RG, 3000-D (~ressure pipe), 636 lineal feet Item 2 - Furnish and install 36" RCP, 1000-D, 532 lineal feet Item 3 - Furnish and install cast-in-place pressure manholes, 3 each Item 4 - Furnish and in~tall p~ecast concrete manholes, 3 each Item 5 -Construct 2" thick asphalt concrete "vee" ditch~ 470 lineal feet Item 6 - Construct outlet structure, Lump Sum Item 7 - Lower 6" VCP sanitary sewer, 100 lineal feet. Said work shall include the furnishing and supplying of all necessary labor and materials. It is requested that all bids be submitted on both a unit and group basis because said city reserves the right to make award of contract on either a unit or group basis. All said work is to be done at the places and in the particular locations, and in accordance with the forms, sizes, dimensions, and materials and to the lines and grades, and in conformance to the pro- files, detailed drawings, and specifications therefor which have heretofore been approved and adopted by said City Council and which are presently on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city. Reference is hereby made to said plans, profiles, detailed drawings, and specifications for further particulars, copies o£ which may be procured from said City Clerk.upon the making of a deposit of TEN DOLLARS ($ 10.00 ) per set, of which sum FIVE DOLLARS (3 5.00 ) will be refunded upon the return of said plans and specifications in good condition within SEVENTY-T~O (72) HOURS after the bid date.
