HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 4792-1968RESOLUTION NO. 4792 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 3486, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ADOPTING PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS"--OVERTIME PAY, POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that Section 5.04 (c) of Resolution 3486, passed June 4, 1962, as amended, is hereby amended to read: 5.04 OVERTIME (c) Overtime Pay, Police and Fire Departments: Each member of the Fire Department and Police Department, except those hired or paid on the basis of an hourly or daily rate of pay, shall be entitled to receive overtime pay or compensatory time off for overtime services rendered by him on the fol- lowing basis: (1) Scheduled Overtime: Members who work scheduled overtime in excess of their normal workday or week shall be paid on the basis of straight time for the time worked or given compensatory time off. (2) Call-back Overtime and Overtime Due to Continuing on Duty after Regul&r Tour of Duty or Shift of Work: Members, who shall have been or are required in the course and scope of their official employment to continue and remain upon active duty after their regular tour of duty or shift of hours shall have or has expired, shall receive overtime pay at the rate of one and one-half times the regular rate of pay. Members who are called back to work shall be il Iii i I granted overtime pay (one and one-half times the regular rate) for the time worked or given the equivalent in compensatory time off. Call-back time commences when the employee reports for work and ends when the member is released from the work assigned. (3) Overtime Pay for Court Appearances: Members of the Police Department who are required in the course and scope of their official employ- ment to appear in court, other than during their regular tour of duty or shift of hours, shall receive overtime pay at the rate of one and one-half times the regular rate of pay. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 4778, passed the 18th day of December, 1967, is hereby rescinded, the within Resolution having restated the regulations therein set forth as Section (c) instead of Section (e).
