CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE DIRECTOR OF PARKS
AND RECREATION AS APPLICANT /ADMINISTRATOR FOR
SIX LICENSED CHILDCARE FACILITIES
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco operates two full -day licensed preschools at
Westborough and Siebecker, and three licensed after school recreation programs at Monte Verde,
Ponderosa, and Spruce Elementary Schools; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco is in the process of licensing an additional
after school recreation program at Buri Buri Elementary School with a capacity of 35 -40 children
per day; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to take any and all actions necessary to operate
licensed childcare facilities at these locations, including but not limited to increasing capacity
and establishing additional locations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby designates Sharon Ranals, the Director of Parks and
Recreation as the Applicant /Administrator on behalf of the City of South San Francisco in order
to satisfy requirements for childcare licensing with respect to the City of South San Francisco's
licensed childcare facilities.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 12 day of
October 2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto,
Vice Mayor Richard A. Garbarino and Mayor Kevin Mullin
NOES: None
