A RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION OF THE
PROVISIONS OF SECTION 23 OF THE UNII~D STATES
HOUSING ACT OF 1937, AS AN~)ED TO TH~ CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, COUFI~ OF SAN NATEO
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that
~HE~S, under the provisions of Section 23 of the
United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, the Public
Housing Administration is authorized t~ provide financial
assistance to local public housing age.~cies in providing
rental payment to eligible applicants by paying a portion of
their rent as long as they remai~ eligible for such assist-
ance and vhile residing in presises vhich provide decent,
safe and sanitary facilities; and
ItI~REAS, said Section 23 provides that the provisions
thereof shall not apply to any locality unless the gover~ing
body of the locality has, by resolution, approved the applica-
tion of such provisions to such locali-.y;
NOI/, THEReFORe, IT IS HEREBY D~E~~D ~D O~E~D
that:
1. The public interest and convenience ~rlll be served
by the application of the provisions o_~ Section 23 of the
United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, to the City
of South San Francisco, California.
2. The Housing Authority of the City of .$OUih San
Francisco be and the same is hereby authorized-to conduct
a program of rental assistance within the City of South San
Francisco for the benefit of its citizens through the offices
of said Housing Authority or through ar, agreement with the
San Nateo County Housing Authority providing that said San
Nateo County liousin$ Authority __-~__y con tuct such prosram
in the' City of South San Francisco and vith the additional
proviso that applicants for such assis :ante shall be required
to have resided in the C~ty. of South San Francisco one year
prior to applyins for such assistance.
