CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REDUCTION IN THE AMOUNT
OF REQUIRED FAITHFUL PERFORMANCE BOND FROM TWO
HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($200,000.00) TO FIFTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,0¢0.00) PURSUANT TO COM-
PLETION BY WESTERN TV CABLE OF INSTALLATION OF
THE COMMUNITY ANTENNA TELEVISION SYSTEM IN ALL
DELINEATED AREAS OF THE CITY OF'SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO.
WHEREAS, Western TV Cable (formerly Western Cable Tele-
vision Company) was granted a franchise or license to construct,
operate and maintain a community antenna television (CATV)
system within the City of South San Francisco for a term of
eleven (11) years pursuant to the authority provided, in, and
all of the provisions, terms and conditions of Ordinance
No. 547, passed and adopted tke 6th day of June, 1966, entitled
"An Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco Providing for
the Granting of Franchises for Community Antenna Television
Systems; Providing Terms and Conditions for the Operation of
Such Community Antenna Television Systems and Fees Therefor";
of ResolUtion No. 4618, passec the 16th day of January, 1967,
entitled "A Resolution Declaring the Council's Determination
To Grant a CATV Franchise and the Terms and Conditions Upon
Which the Franchise Is To Be Granted"; and of Ordinance No.
563, passed and adopted the l~.th day of June, 1967, entitled
"An Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco Granting a
Franchise or License to Construct, Operate and Maintain a
Community Antenna Television System Within the City of South
San Francisco", and
WHEREAS, Western TV Cable as Grantee of said franchise
or license has filed a faithful performance bond in the principal
amount of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00) as set forth
in and on the conditions described in Section 14 of said Ordi-
nance No. 547 and Section 9 of said Ordinance No. 563, and

WHEREAS, Section 9 of said Ordinance No. 563 and Section
3.5 of said Resolution No. 4618 provide that the principal
amount of said bond may be reduced to fifty thousand dollars
($50,000.00) upon completion of the Phases of the CATV system
installation, said reduction to be effective upon approval by
resolution of the City Council, and
WHEREAS, each Phase of the CATV system installation in
the areas delineated by Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 563,
and as set forth in Section 3.4 of said Resolution No. 4618,
has been made and completed by Grantee, so as to render CATV ser-
vice available to all residences in the City of South San
Francis co;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESgLVED by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco that Western TV Cable, as Grantee
of said franchise or license has properly and timely complied
in substantial respect with Section 4 of said Ordinance No.
563 and Section 3.4 of said Resolution No. 4618, including
completion of the schedule for the CATV system installation
and rendering service available for the developed areas delin-
eated as set forth on the map entitled "Exhibit A, CATV Instal-
lation Phases" attached thereto, in a manner satisfactory to
the City Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the principal amount of the
faithful performance bond filed by Western TV Cable as Grantee
pursuant to said Ordinance and Resolution is hereby reduced
from the principal amount of two hundred thousand dollars
($200,000.00) to fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) pursuant
to Section 9 of said Ordinance No. 563 and Section 3.5 of said
Resolution No. 4618, and upon certification by the Director of
Public Works that said installations have been so completed in
the developed areas, the City Clerk of the City of South San
Francisco is hereby authorized to accept said bond in the

reduced principal amount under the terms and conditions of
Section 14 of said Ordinance No. 547.
