CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RE'SOLUTION REGARDING' AIRCRAFT NOISE~ LEVEL.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that:
1. The Council finds as follows:
a. Present noise levels in South San Francisco caused
by aircraft operating in the takeoff and landing
patterns of San Francisco International Airport
represent a serious intrusion detrimental to the
health and welfare of the City of South San Francisco;
b. Reduction in the ncise level is necessary to eliminate
this intrusion and protect the health and welfare of
s aid City.
2. The Council orders that:
a. Notice be given to San Francisco International Airport,
the several aircraft operators and the Federal Aviation
Agency that present noise levels caused by aircraft
operating in the takeoff and landing patterns of San
Francisco International Airport represent a serious
intrusion detrimental to the health and welfare of
this City;
b. The City undertake the necessary programs to cause
a reduction in said noise levels.
3. Councilman Frank Mammini's appointment as Chairman of
the Jet Committee of South San Francisco be confirmed.
4. Ail previous orders, Resolutions and instructions regard-
ing this matter be superseded by this Resolution as future
policy regarding jet n,~ise will be determined after receipt
of reports and recommendations ~of the Jet Committee.
