A RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION UNDER
DIVISION 4 OF TH~ STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE
TANFORAN AVENUE-SHA~[ ROAD STORM DRAINAGE PROJECT
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South .San
Francisco, California, tha~ the public interest, convenience and
necessity require, and tha~ it is the intention of this Council
to undertake certain acquisitions and improvements within said
City and to assess the cost thereof on lands benefited thereby,
said acquisitions and imprevements being described as follows:
1. a) The construct'_on of R.C.P. storm drainage pipes,
manholes, and all appurtenant structures and facilities from an
existing transition structure in the southwesterly extension of
Tanforan Avenue westerly of the Southern Pacific Railroad right
of way northeasterly across and under said right of way to and
along Tanforan Avenue to San Mateo Avenue, thence easterly in
Shaw Road about 850 feet, thence northeasterly in easements to
be acquired herein to a navigable slough;
b) The acquisiticn of all easements and the construc-
tion of all improvements auxiliary to any of the above and
necessary to complete the same.
2. Reference is hereby made to the map or plat showing
the general nature, locaticn and extent of said acquisitions
and improvements for a further description of said work and for
all particulars relating t~.ereto, which map or plat~ is on file
in the office of the City Clerk and open to public inspection.
3. The costs thereof will be assessed upOn a district
·
benefited thereby, the exterior boundaries of which are as
shown on a map thereof on flle in the office of the City Clerk
identified as "Preliminary .~ssessment Area, Tanforan Avenue-
Shaw Road Drainage, Storm D~ainage Project - Area Map," dated
November 1969, to which ref,=rence is hereby made for further
particulars.
4. That proceedings for said acquisitions and improve-
ments shall be conducted pursuant to Division 4 of the Streets

and Highways Code (the Special ,Assessment Investigation,
Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1913) and the Munici-
pal Improvement Act of 1913, and bonds shall be issued
pursuant to the Improvement Bond Act of 1915o
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
at a regular meeting held on the 5th day of January, 1970, by the fo1-
lowing vote:
