A RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS,
AUTHORIZING THE i'JORK AND CALL!.i~G B!qS FOR
PATH LIGHT SYSTEM, WESTBOROUGH PARK, SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA.
RESOL~fED by the City CDuncil of the City of South San
Francisco that
I^~EREAS, specification~ providing for certain improve-
ment work have been submitt.ed, which specifications are
entitled'
PATH LIGHT SYSTEM, WESTBOROUGH PARK,
SOUTH SAN FRANCISC$, CALIFORNIA
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve said
specifications, authorize t]~e work and call for sealed
proposals;
NO\Y, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that-
1. The specifications hereinbefore named and identi-
fied are hereby approved an~ the work therein provided is
hersby authorized, and sai~ specifications are referred to
anC by this reference made a part hereof the same as if
recited herein verbatim.
2. The City Clerk of said City is hereby dir~_cte~ to
publish by two (2) cons~_cutlve insertions in the "Enter-
prise-Journal," a newspaper published and circulated in said
City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for. said
work in accordance with the sp~.cifications hereinbefore
nam3d and identifi~d and on file in the Office of the City
Clerk, the first of which publications shall be at least
ten (10) days prior to the time fix.ed for opening bids·
A copy of said notice entitled "Notice to Bi~ders" is attached
hereto and referred to and by this reference made ~ part
hereof as if set forth verbatim herein.
All proposals or bids ~.~hall be accompanie(~ by a cashier's
or certified ch~sck, payable to the order of the City of South
San Francisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten per
cent (10%) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount

dra~.~n in favor of said City and executed by a corporate
su~-cUy. Said check shall be forfeited by bidder, or said
~bond shall become payable t~ said City in case the lowest

of a corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred
per cent (i00%) of the amount of said bid, as required by
th~ provisions of Title I, Division 5, Chapter 3, of the

forfeiture, as 'provided for in the preceding sentence, ~he
defaulting bidder shall be _iabie to said City for any
additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in
connection with obtaining full and complete performance of
the particular work of improvemen~ with which this Notice
to Bidders is concerned.
3. Bids will be received by the City of South San
Francisco~ California, ag ~he Office of the City Manager
of said City, City Hall, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco,

said time not being less than ten (10) days from the first
publication of notice. The bids will be publicly opened,
examined and declared at said time and place and award will
thereafter be made by the City Council of said City no the

the right of said City Council to reject any and all bids,
which righ= is hereby reserved.
4. Funds shall be encumbered as set forth on
Exhibit "A;' attached herego.

The work hereinbefore referred to consists of the following:
Const_ructlon of Pa. th Light System, Ircludln,~ fixturesa, standards, eculpment.
controls, wlrinc, l and appurtenances; ~s set forth on the plans entitled
"Path Llght System improvement Plans, ~/estborough Park, City of South San
Francisco, Californla, dated I~a.rch I~', 1970" and these Specifications; all
to be completed under a single contract. The Contractor shall furnish_all
labor, equipment, materials, and trarsportation neces~lary and properly
incldental to complete ali work In accordance with the Plans and these
Specifications.
~aid work shall include the _~urnishing and supplying of all
necessary labor and materials.
It is requested that all bids be submitted on both a unit and
group basis because said city reserves the right to make award of
contract on either a unit or group basis.
All said work is to be done at the places and in the particular
locations, and in accordance with the forms, sizes, dimensions, and
materials and to the lines and grades, and in conformance to the
profiles, detailed drawings, and specifications therefor which have
heretofore been approved and adopzed by said City Council and which
are presently on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city,
Reference is hereby made to said plans~ profiles~ detailed drawings,
and specifications for further particulars, copies of which may be
procured from said City Clerk upo~ the ma~ing of a deposit of
TEN . DOLLARS ($ 10.00 ) per set, of which sum FIVE
DOLL~,RS (~. ~.00 ) will be re_~U~ded upon the return of said
plans and specifications in good condition within SEVE~Y-TWO (?2)
HOURS after the bid date,

of the amount of said bid, as required by the provisions of Title I,
Division 5~ Chapter 3, of the Government Code of the State of
California~ In case of a forfeiture, as provided £or in the pre-
ceding sentence~ the defaulting b~dder shall be liable to said City
for any additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in
connection with obtaining full aha complete performance of the
particular work of improvement with which this I~otice to Bidders
is concerned.

heretofore established the prevailing wage scale for per diem rates
to be paid to all craftsmen and laborers in connection with the
work to be done pursuant to said plans and specifications, which
is as follows:

County shall apply.
The rates for legal holidays and overtime work, and the allow-
ances for vacations,, pensions, and health and welfare,'shall be
in accordance with .the ~local trade agreements i~ e~ect a~ the
time of bidding.
