CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING LEGISLATION PROHIBITING
DISCHARGE OF SEWAGE FROM ALL SHIPS, BOATS, OR
OTHER VESSELS INTO %HE WATERS OF ANY BAY, HARBOR
OR NAVIC-ABLE STREAM. '
WHEREAS, the discharge of sewage and other wastes from
ships, boats, and other vessels contributes substantially
to the pollution of our country's bays, harbors, and navi-
gable streams; and
WHEREAS, the eliminatio.n of pollution of all forms is
a vital necessity for the survival of our country; and
WHEREAS, in order for a regulation prohibiting sewage
and waste discharge to be effective it must be established
by Federal or State statutes~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco that the Senate and Congress
of the United States, and the Senate and Assembly of the
State of California give serious consideration to the enact-
ment of legislation which will prohibit the discharge of
sewage and other wastes from all ships, boats, and other
vessels into the waters of ar.y bay, harbor, or navigable stream;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
sent to Senator George Murphy and Senator Alan Cranston,
Congressman Paul N. McCloskey, Jr., Senator Richard Dolwig,
Assemblyman Leo J. Ryan, Assemblyman Carl A. Britschgi, and
the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting

held on the 20th day of April , 19 70 , by the
