CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION REGARDING "REPORT TO THE
LEGISLATURE ON PK$POSED NOISE STANDARDS
FOR CALIFORNIA AIRPORTS PURSUANT TO
PUBLIC UTILITIES SODE SECTION 21669."
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San
'Francisco has received a c~py of the "Report to the Legis-
lature on Proposed Noise Standards for California Airports
Pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section 21669," which was
submitted by the California Department of Aeronautics,
Joseph R. Crotti, Director, and dated April 1, 1970, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco is concerned tha~ noise standards be established
which will materially alleviate the jet noise nuisance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco that:
1. The Council commends t?.e Legislature for authorizing the
establishment of noise star_dards for California airports;
2. The Council intends to be represented at the hearing for
the purpose of submitting comments and suggestions in regard
thereto;
3. The Council desires the establishment of noise standards
which will materially alleviate jet noise nuisance caused by
jet aircraft opera.ting from San Francisco International Air-
port and respectfully requests the assistance of Congressman
Paul N. McCloskey, Jr., Ser~ator Richard Dolwig, Assemblyman
Leo Ryan and Assemblyman Carl Britschgi in attaining that goal.
4. The Council authorizes the City Clerk to send a copy of
this Resolution to Congressman Paul N. McCloskey, Jr.
5. The Council authorizes the City Clerk to send a copy
of this Resolution to Senator Richard Dolwig, Assemblyman
Leo Ryan and Assemblyman Carl Britschgi, with advice that a
written statement of the City's official position with regard
to said report will be file~ with their offices.
