A RESOLUTION FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS IS REQUIRED FOR
THE SAFETY OF PUPILS ATTENDING SCHOOLS
EL CAMIN0 REAL SIDEWALK PROJECT

ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco, California, that
WHEREAS, the State of California proposes to undertake the
widening and improving of E1 Camino Real within the city limits
of the City of South San Francisco, and the City is charged with
the responsibility of paying the costs of certain improvements,
including sidewalks and appurtenant and auxiliary curb and
gutter facilities;
WHEREAS, sidewalks already exist in certain portions of
E1 Camino Real between Arroyo Drive and Chestnut Avenue, and
this Council proposes to cause ~he completion of said sidewalk
facilities within said area by appropriate special assessment
and assessment bond proceedings in order to complete said side-
walk network as part of the general improvement program pro-
posed by the State;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS FOUND, DETERMINED and ORDERED, as
follows:
1. That the construction of Portland cement concrete
sidewalks, together with appurtenant and auxiliary curb and
gutter facilities necessary to complete and support same on
E1 Camino Real from one-tenth 'of a mile north of Arroyo Drive
to one-tenth of a mile south of Chestnut Avenue are required
for the safety of pUpils attending elementary and high schools
in the immediate 'vicinity of sa:d proposed sidewalk project.
2. That the provisions of Division 4 of the Streets
and Highways Code shall not apply to the proceedings for the
construction of said sidewalks ~o be hereafter commenced.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Counci, of the City of South San Francisco
at a regular meeting held on the 1Gth day of May, 1970, by the following
vote~
