HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 141-2011 RESOLUTION NO. 141 -2011 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT AMENDMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000 FROM THE BAY AREA SUBURBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE (SUASI) TO PURCHASE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT (CARDIAC MONITOR /DEFIBRILLATOR), WATER RESCUE SUITS, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT; AMENDING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT 2011 -12 OPERATING BUDGET, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AN AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ( "City") staff recommends the acceptance of an additional grant in the amount of $30,000 from the Bay Area SUASI to purchase medical equipment (cardiac monitor /defibrillator), water rescue suits, tools and equipment; and WHEREAS, this grant represents 100% of the total funding for the medical equipment, water rescue suits, tools and equipment; and WHEREAS, Bay Area SUASI regulations require the City to sign an amendment to the executed memorandum of understanding in order to ensure the grant funds are used for their designated purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby: 1. Accepts an additional grant from the Bay Area SUASI in the amount of $30,000 and appropriates the same amount to the Fire Department budget for the purchase of medical equipment (cardiac monitor /defibrillator), water rescue suits, tools and equipment; 2. Authorizes the City Manager to sign an amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding governing the use of the grant funds. 3. Amends the 2011 -2012 Fire Department operating budget to reflect the budgeting allocations. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 14 day of December, 2011 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Karyl Matsumoto, and Kevin Mullin, Vice Mayor Pedro Gonzalez and Mayor Richard A.
