CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT TO GONSALVES & STRONCK
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. FOR THE MILLER
AVENUE PARKING STRUCTURE TENANT
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $645,700
WHEREAS, staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids for the Miller Avenue Parking Structure
Tenant Improvements Project ( "Project ") and on November 22, 2011, received nine (9) valid
bids in response; and
WHEREAS, Gonsalves & Stronck Construction Company, Inc. of San Carlos, California,
was the lowest responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the construction contract to Gonsalves &
Stronck Construction Company, Inc. ( "Gonsalves & Stronck ") of San Carlos, California, based
on the base bid and add alternate in the amount of $645,700; and
WHEREAS, the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2011 -2012
Capital Improvement Program ( "CIP ") and sufficient funds are available to cover the Project
cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the construction contract for the Miller Avenue
Parking Structure Tenant Improvements Project to Gonsalves & Stronck of San Carlos,
California, in an amount not to exceed $645,700, conditioned on Gonsalves & Stronck's timely
execution of the Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not
limited to, executed bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the
Project documents.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
documents on behalf of the City Council upon timely submission by Gonsalves & Stronck's
signed contract and all other documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the le day of
December, 2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, and Kevin Mullin,
Vice Mayor Pedro Gonzalez and Mayor Richard A. Garbarino
NOES: Councilmembers Karyl Matsumoto
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: None
