CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION OPPOSING CONSOLIDATION OF
SAN MATEO AND SANTA CRUZ RANGER UNITS
OF THE DIVISION OF FORESTRY.
BE IT RESOLVED by the 2ity Council of the City of South
San Francisco that:
WHEREAS, the Department of Conservation, State of California,
is considering a proposal to consolidate the existing San Mateo
and Santa Cruz Ranger Units of the Division of Forestry and
locate headquarters of same in the town of Felton in the County
of Santa Cruz, and
WHEREAS, said consolidation and relocation of the San
Mateo County Forestry Headquarters would be adverse to the
interest of the citizens and property owners of the County of
San Mateo;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT:
1. The City Council of the City of South San Francisco
opposes the consolidation of the existing San Mateo and Santa
Cruz Ranger Units of the Division of Forestry and location of
said headquarters in the town of Felton in Santa Cruz County;
2. The City Council respectfully requests the Department
of Conservation, State of California, to reconsider the proposal
and retain the San Mateo County Ranger Unit in the County of San
Mateo at its present location; and
3. The City Council orders that a copy of this resolution
be forwarded to Governor Ror_ald Reagan and the Division of
Conservation, State of California.
